For all the promise of the young players this squad is painfully thin atm though. Defensively we are probably ok but so light in midfield and attacking options. If May isn’t back for a while then even more pressure on Strang to start delivering. Early start Dan. We have some excellent prospects at the club. Hoddle, McConnell & Scales in particular looked good today. We can’t however expect them all to be ready for full seasons in league 1. We’ve known for months the likes of Smith & Knibbs were going so would have expected us to be further along the squad rebuild by now.

It's only been 20 minutes, but Ahadme looks unconvincing so far. Andrew looking good though. If he spends the season being "unconvincing" but popping up with 90th minute goals like that I`ll take it

Nice not to start pre-season with a defeat. I'd guess Bonner will be happier with the second half team though. Andrew It was 1-1 Andrew !

Anyone who saw it would probably say it should have been 2-1 which means scientifically Cambridge are massive and should win the championship, let's not mess around with playing any games this season when it's just a formality.
20 goals from the Gassman and no goals conceded til Christmas here we go

Come back to me the day before the start of the season.

Deals take time - so have some patience. It can seem slow but am sure we will do the necessary business.

Bonner out, Betsy out, Strang out, Brewboar out etc etc Every season, every effing season

Impressed with Ahadme, looks skilful quick, strong and chased everything down. Worked hard and deserved his goal, looks a useful addition - just needs some help which hopefully will come in next couple of weeks

I am expressing my opinion on how the squad looks in my opinion at the moment after watching today. People said don’t worry all last summer and it didn’t turn out too great.

The squad doesn’t look good in midfield or up front but let’s be patient and see where we end up come the end of the window.

Listened to an interview with Gary Caldwell the other day and he commented on how tough the market is at the moment and how most clubs in league 1 are struggling to recruit players. Exeter have also lost some big first team players this season and think they have only signed two so far!
