Will be interested to see Saturday's attendance. One defeat to bring in the fair weather factor? Having said that, money is, of course, a factor and perhaps many will go to only one of the two home games in a week. This is getting silly now! đź’› With a redeveloped Abbey, playing at this level, 10k regular crowds no longer sounds like a fantasy. Still a long way to go before we can get 10k as it's still around 6000 home fans on a regular basis (minus the away attendances). But as you say it doesn't seem impossible Not too sure why everyone has decided this is the year to turn up but hopefully those people are spot on. Nice to see the people of Cambridge finally getting on board

Yeah I'm assuming sold out aways in that 10k speculation.
Looking for another 2.5k regular home fans.
More families in the new Habbin seats and loads of yoof in the new monster NRE terrace.

Last year was up by 500-ish on the average crowd the previous season, and if the current attendances hold (for the remaining 20 games...) we could be up by the same number.
It's really quite remarkable and a guess a credit to way we present ourselves these days. Even when we're garbage there's a positve and welcoming vibe around the place and everything we do outside of the 90 minutes must make it a much more welcoming place for families.
I wonder if the successful England womens team has had any impact too?.
Ah, who knows. Home crowds could just as easily drop by a 1000 within the next month, in fact it'd probably be easier for that to happen.

On the club website home ticket sales, would it be possible to show the number of available tickets particularly for the NRE and North and South Habbin? It would be useful to know when they are getting close to selling out and would encourage people to buy their tickets.

Another 2.5k fans would obviously be a big increase. But given in 10 years our average home crowds have nearly tripled (some of that it just down to promotions), and the area is one of the fastest growing in the UK with big development plans to come that 10k number could be a reasonable target in the mid to long term even without away sellouts. Any stadium development should hopefully consider the potential growth.

The stadium doesn't need to be full every game, there will be good times and bad, always.

10k doesn’t sound too far fetched with the new developments continuing - Eddington, Trumpington Meadows, Northstowe, New Waterbeach will all have young fans to attract and possibly Wintringham too.
Might be a nightmare in terms of infrastructure in the city but selfishly as a football club it’s brilliant being at the centre of it if we can target these places early.

There's no reason why not though, if they're going mug everyone off with charges for daring to need a vehicle, then they can't complain about the infrastructure at the same time.
If it's built, it'll be fine.

Don't want to sound like a dick, but a refurbished stadium is also likely to bring in more. Better facilities, better seats and a general feeling that you're not entering a bit of a "run down" ground will also encourage. I know there is this vocal group who would like no change, everything is fine as it is - but more modern looking will get more through gate as well.

Didn't there used to be a train stop close to the Abbey back in the day? Could that be reopened? That'd help reduce local traffic.

Has to be done in the right way though, which is hard. There must be a way to modernise and redevelop the Abbey yet keep some of the character that we all love about the place.

There's been so much talk over the last decade about new train lines or reopening old ones around the area. There was even talk of a metro system, though not sure how serious that ever was? There'll be three stations in the city soon though, a fourth one next to the Abbey would be ideal but I'm not sure how much use it would ever get on non matchdays? I imagine if there ever was a fourth station, the council would want it somewhere else a bit further from the main station and Cambridge North?

Not really, you demolish, the habbin and nre and build new stands, nothing to be kept there, but the ground will still have loads of character as all stands are different
