What if Neal Heaney’s “goal” against Middlesbrough had not been disallowed?

if Chris Turner hadn't come along and rescued us almost single handedly in the mid 80s and then built the side that Beck inherited. Or if Chris hadn't suddenly quit in Jan 90 and Beck never took over?

What if we had sacked Bonner last season? Would we be better off than sixth in League One with average attendances over 7,000?

Losing to Torquay in the 2009 play off final was disapointing enough but had Histon beaten Torquay in the play off semis and we instead lost to them at Wembley who knows how our future would have panned out. Nightmarish alternative universe with Histon as the local EFL club. Not saying it necessarily would have been as catastrophic to us as it was to Camb City when we were elected to the EFL in 1970 but would certainly have been a disaster for us. That Histon "project" would still have collapsed, so while nightmarish to think about, the mid-term future would likely have stayed fairly similar.

What if Richard Caborn had not faced down HMRC and the FA on our behalf in 2005?
None of the last six Secretaries of State for Culture Media and Sport would likely have done that - Dorries wouldn't have even turned up...

What if we hadn't loaned out Bennett?

Steve Evans would have us 3rd Not sure this one quite belongs as, it certainly appears like, we were never even close to sacking him. Bonner off to Rotherham (Botherham) on the other hand...

if Big Ron hadn't arrived and taken us from the foot of Div 4 to almost Div 2 where we eventually stayed for a mind boggling 6 seasons under the Doc who was Ron's coach.

Swindon Town postponing our game against them on 15th September 2000 because of the fuel strikes... only game in the football league to be postponed. Ridiculous.
We'd probably be in the premier league by now had that FARCE not happened and we certainly would have avoided 9 years in the conference.

(5) Gateshead equalised in the 2014 play-off final and went on to win against our 10 men I often wonder about this one. I think we absolutely would have gone on to lose if they'd got another goal. But as to what that might have meant the next season, I think it wouldn't have derailed us. I think Money would have stayed, and I think without Luton in the division we'd likely have won it. The 2-2 away at Altrincham under Jez that was one of the key results in keeping us up comes to mind for me. Came back from 2-0 down to draw against a team that I think would have gone above us (and out of the relegation zone, dropping us into it) with a win. I guess with that one it was a mutual sliding doors moment. Where would Gateshead be now if they had reached the EFL then. Would they have gone up and stabilised like Fleetwood, FGR, Sutton United, or dropped back down to Conference level?

What about if Roy Keane had bought the club in 2011?

If Cambridge City hadn't insisted on amateurism back in the 30s, we'd probably all be City fans now and Abbey United would be little more than a colts team.
Ho hum.

What if we'd never given the SC the freehold in return for paying for Harry's roof?

All of the above Plus we had finished 6th from bottom and Bournemouth 5th from bottom the season 5 were relegated to the bottom division instead of 4. Then went on to do what Bournemouth have achieved since.

The one's to me are the PO Finals against Exeter & Torquay. What if we had gone up under Quinn or Brabin with the likes of George Rolls on the board? Would we have gone back down after splashing the cash and even be here now? I know it was crap down there but better to have come back up in the long run under Richard Money and the then board.
