I’ll have a go at this match thread game. My only previous one was the 3 0 loss to Southampton in the League Cup.
McConnell must be given a start. He looked lively and his 2nd or so touch last night was the only bit of individual skill we showed last night. There was a quite a few errors too but give him an opportunity to do his stuff on the wing at 0 0 from minute 1 he will settle down and get people off their seats. Plus he tried to gee up the South Habbin at 2 0 so already a plus in my book.
Can’t see anything other than the current awfulness continuing. Bet Lee Johnson can’t wait.

Before Russ can come in with his prediction, I'm going 5-0 United as we finally let the shackles off and tear Fleetwood apart.
Or maybe that was just the dream I had. 1-1 with a 2-0 defeat in the replay.
Start the same team as last night, we did start brightly after all.

This game has the potential to be a golden ticket for Bonner. Sneak a win and get a good draw in the third round and the narrative and mood could transform. Lose and miss out on a big game and the misery will only intensify.
Or more likely it'll be a draw, or we'll get Newport in the third round. But it's the mistake in sending Bennett out on loan, lack of plan B, negative media interviews HOPE THAT KILLS YOU

Has all the hallmarks of a further meek, morale-sapping loss. Like Grimsby last year.
Fleetwood are playing a lot better than they were earlier in the season & were unbeaten in 4 before Saturday. They're scoring lots of goals, which doesn't bode well, but are conceding a lot too.... which probably doesn't bode well for us as things are going.
But who knows? One-off game, small crowd, two teams in the same part of the table. Honestly wouldn't be surprised to see McConnell start but will err on the side of another 30-minute cameo instead. Think we might switch up the system but not sure what to. Possibly back to 4-1-4-1? Could see us going:
Stevens
Bennett Okedina Morrison Andrew
Cousins
Brophy Digby Lankester Kaikai

Assuming that he's still in charge, I expect another re-shuffle and Digby (unless on naughty step) will come back in along with Brophy. Kai Kai will probably need a rest after breaking sweat once last night and he may swap Rennett for Morrison. If Haunstraup is fit, I'd give him a run at LB because Andrew was awful by his own levels last night. End the Okenihibire in the no 10 role experiment as well. He could start McConell - what really has he got to lose now?

Maybe Janneh will reappear from the naughty step.

Fej needs to revert back to his 'super sub' spot. Was completely ineffective last night playing behind Gassan and in the games he has started he has generally run out of steam. His ability to use his strength and stamina in the last 20-30 mins earlier in the season caused issues for so many defences.
Janneh is either lively and everywhere or 'can't be arsed to run back'. Possibly save him for the 60-65 min sub mark.
I think McConnell deserves a runout but realistically he'll be another sub I would imagine, though as a cup game who knows.

Definitely start Glenn McConnell, the boy did great last night.....I`d go 4-4-2 and yes Fejiri alongside Gassan up top and if one of them has to drop a tad deep at times make it Gassan.
Thought Jubril did enough to keep his place for this one. Think we can hang on to a few who weren`t thinking of going after last nights dross due to Bonz getting the chop. Perhaps 3,333 !
Usual Main Stand migration from the Habbin for me, got a Seat in Block E near Press area, so a view similar to Doug and Jonno !
Let`s just get through this one by any means and get a Bumper pay day at one of the "Big" 5 ! .....Won`t Ringfence the cash as such but an extra £100,000 for next season, (hidden in undisclosed fee`s of course) for the new guy, won`t half be helpful !

McConnell made my day last night (made my night yesterday..?). Anyway, I hope he doesn't lose that impish side of his game. I like the geeing up of the crowd, I like him directing the flow of our attacks, I like the cheeky little step overs and tricks, I like his bravery and responsibility on the ball and I quite like all the exaggerated expressions and reactions on his face. Looks authentic to me. Even the rolled down socks Grealish style doesn't bother me in the way it should usually bother a grumpy old bastard like me.
Good lad. Carry on.

I was considering not going, but I will. No real pressure on us in this game. Give a couple of youth team players a good run out and start Lankester as number 10.

Also, interesting to see how many candidates for manager there are in the crowd.
