I think with Bonner, he meant what he said down to the precise wording and phrasing whereas with Harris, he's more gesturing at his overall view and it seems quite a lot different to what I imagine he says to the players.
He has admitted in other interviews that Orient was crap for the whole game, but then seems to gloss over it later. I think in a few weeks time he'll be saying that we dominated Fleetwood despite whatever ATTRITION that first 45 minutes is.
I sort of find it refreshing as those Amber tinted spectacles massively coat my memories of games - Fleetwood I thoroughly enjoyed in my mind but I remember saying to my mates how dire it was.
I like the rapport he's got with the journos too even if it's a bit silly. 'Any indication what position you'll look to recruit in or is that asking too much' 'Yeah that's pushing it... but it's pretty obvious where we're light'
It's got a bit more panto feel to it which is more performative but also, that performance is for the fans so it sort of works?

A draw would be OK yeah. Definitely need to avoid a loss though. We always seem to find St James Park a difficult place to go, regardless of league or relative form for either team, so I was expecting a tough game down there even before they started to pick up slightly (which were wins against Carlisle & Wycombe, and a draw against Portsmouth). They're the joint lowest scorers in the country (might even be outright now, after the weekend) so need to do our utmost to make sure that continues. With Taylor starting, I think we'll have enough about us to nick it 2-1 in an edgy game, after going 2 up and riding our luck towards the end. Only question mark really is over whether Kachunga came off with an injury or just precautionary? If he's fit, I'd start him in the hole with Brophy dropping out; if not, move Lankester into the middle & Kaikai right. Stevens
Bennett Bennett Morrison Andrew
Digby Cousins
Lankester Kachunga Kaikai
Taylor No we dont, a nice 1-0 win last time in front of 5k Utd fans!!! That was St. James' Park.* *Irritated pedant alert.

I think after a while, Bonner's pre and post match conferences became very repetitve and not much was really gained from them barring injury news. He is level headed and didn't really get to up or down after them. Hence why his calm interview after the Pish hammering drew a lot of criticism. Harris has a different, more up beat and positive style which is all new at the moment and of course a different view/approach. He hasn't yet (apart from Orient) had many bad results so can be more upbeat. As others have mentioned the test will be when we've had some losses and poor perfomances in a row will he still be the same. Both he and Bonner are more media polished off course than dear old Richard Money who could be far more prickly in his!

I just hope they consider the forecast for tomorrow when doing the pitch inspection as looking at the temperatures it is going to be very different by then. BBC says +5c this time tomorrow with it rising to +8c by kick off. The pitch may well be unplayable at 2pm today but with temperatures like that it will change for sure by tomorrow. Unfortunately while the temp maybe 5 or 6, there will be areas of the pitch that are constantly shaded by the stands, and it takes a good 2/3 days of higher temps to properly thaw the ground out, particularly when it's been a full week of -5/6/7. The shaded areas will be like concrete.

Do we clap on our doorsteps instead? Was looking forward to going and not joining in to be fair.

It's the only reason I was planning to go. I'm not even going to clap the players in case somebody thinks I'm doing it for Reading.

Another inspection at lunchtime on Saturday. Leaving it until relatively late hopefully suggests they're pretty hopeful the game will be on.

This update from Exeter really doesn’t help anybody. No doubt City will have stocked up bars/food etc. our team will be on its way, and no doubt an advance guard of fans too, with more setting off early tomorrow morning, so is it sensible to wait until lunchtime? If there is doubt, call it now.
