Bollocks. Results elsewhere not too horrible to be fair, so doesn’t appear that much damage has been done and another game closer to the end of the season.

A shame not to get anything in the end, but a much better display second half. Still a lot to be positive about and given the sides we've played in the last 3 games, 6/9 points is an excellent return.

Decent performance against a better side, not the best but not the worst. Should give us something to work on in the training ground but this is probably the least annoyed/upset I've been about a league defeat all season.

Paid them far too much respect in the first half, that cost us the game. Gave it a good go second half which was positive to see. Rossi looked very composed and brought the ball out of the back a few times, good to see that too.
Burton have 4 games left and need to make 5pts on us - safety is getting closer

Enough there, and results elsewhere, not to have killed the positive trajectory of Easter, equally a point would have been very valuable but fair's fair in the end I guess.
Another week, another set of new admirers for Lennett. That £1.5m is going to come in handy.

Burton have 4 games left and need to make 5pts on us - safety is getting closer 5 points + GD. If they catch us on points, they’ll have overturned the goal difference. But although we lost, the results today were good elsewhere so we’re in a stronger position now than we were 3 hours ago.

It got better in the second half at least. I think the two wide central defenders were a little more split in the second half and that enabled the wing backs to be a little more wing than back and press higher up the pitch. It became more of a 3-4-2-1 than a 5-4-1 if you like.
We looked a little more confident on the ball when May came on I felt. Digby unfortunately just isn't cut out for playing balls between the lines, is he. Decent game from him overall though.
Ahadme didn't really have much to scrap off but did his best with little. At times our quality on the ball was really quite poor Kaikai/Bennett and Gibbons/Brophy don't seem to have much link up between them.
Looked like a penalty for the foul on Ahadme to me. I'm guessing the ball had already gone out but I'm not sold.
Still, I thought it was a decent enough performance. The back three were excellent and Zeno had his most impressive show for us. Cousins was good again. Ahadme is a bucketload of problems for any defence. One of those games were both sides will claim to have controlled the game in their own way, I think we largely controlled what they did with the ball even if they swamped the possession stats.

I’m sure that on reflection, Gary Monk will feel that we sat too deep and invited them onto us too much in the first half and that’s what cost us the game. Obviously in the second half, we realised that we could impose ourselves a bit more than we thought.
Just about a fair result in the end but losing feels so much easier to take when it’s not a spineless capitulation, doesn’t it…

Think we have to assume Cheltenham win their game in hand against Carlisle on Tuesday (although nothing's a given in football obviously) which would put them 4 behind us.
Currently looks likely to be Burton + 1 of Vale or Cheltenham (or us), but the fact they're playing a very out-of-form Stevenage followed by Cheltenham, Reading & Fleetwood to come means they aren't a write-off yet.

Shrewsbury not out of the relegation fight either. Like Burton they are in horrible form and have a worse goal difference than us. Really need to make our game in hand count. Charlton will be tough as Alfie May is bound to score against us as he usually does. Bristol Rovers could be a huge game.

Shrewsbury not out of the relegation fight either. No, definitely not. I've said all season I think they'll go down – but their appointment of Hurst when they did & the points on the board they have, combined with Cheltenham's stutter and Burton's collapse – means I think they'll have enough to save themselves. Just.
