Nah, dunno if it's that straightforward for me. He moved to England when he was seven so similar to Raheem Sterling or John Barnes (who moved at five and twelve). Played for the England age groups up to under 21's too.
Germany definitely have more claim to him though as do Nigeria in fairness so I think he's made the right decision. I think perhaps we had enough of a 'claim' on him to wonder 'what if' but perhaps not go as far to think he 'got away'.
Also, as great as he is, its not like we're exactly shite in those positions so I'm not too bothered.
Haaland on the other hand...

Yeah there's obvious nuance to it, I think the fact he was back in Germany by the time the decision was made makes it seem a bit more straightforward to me.
Think your conclusion there is about right.

Does Musiala go down as 'one that got away' No, not really. He's German, even if he did have eligibility for England, and I'm fine to not need to go for the more tenuously qualified players even if they are bloody good. Playeð for England as an U21 though, so could have been persuaded!

I don't know why, I usually get really up for these tournaments, but I feel really ambivalent about it at the moment. Maybe that'll change when it actually starts. Yup, me too! As the saying goes, I'm old enough and ugly enough to change my mind. The prospect of watching 3 games on a June Saturday, more or less consecutively and without any particular interest in any of the teams playing, is absolutely bloody brilliant. The old Euros are great Ted.

The old Euros are great Ted. Love the Euros, really enjoyed Hungary v Switzerland, both teams had a go to win rather than not lose. I enjoy the games where there is no interest way more than watching England's negative huffing and puffing when we have talent to burn.

I've really enjoyed both games so far and Spain v Croatia is already looking good but I'd take a thousand England games over any other European game in history ever. I don't think we huff and puff particularly, not in qualifiers or tournament football anyway, but eitherway it's about so much more than the actual entertainment value for me. Full on flag shagging Union Jack off summer for me where I can hopefully forget what a miserable mean spirited country we've become. Love it. Bring on Serbia.

Wasn’t feeling up for it until about an hour ago, am on holiday and more focused on enjoying the trip than thinking about football. However I’m currently watching the end of Spain V Croatia in a dedicated fanzone in Skanderberg Square, Tirana, ahead of Albania V Italy later. The atmosphere is electric and The Albanians are really getting into it, if their team can pull off a shock this going to be a night to remember.

Albania is one of the best and most underrated countries in the world. I just loved it there.

Albania is one of the best and most underrated countries in the world. I just loved it there. It’s brilliant, I’ve had a great week in Vlore and Tirana. Just as sad to leave as I am excited to move on to North Macedonia in the morning. Albania taking the lead after less than a minute was brilliant, the 10 minutes or so between that and Italy equalising is up there with the most fun I’ve had watching football as a neutral.

Lots of heart to them. Spain's youth centre look good, Croatia may finally be tired, and Italy are a real crapshoot but hey.
Strong openers from some of the other favourites, hoping we do our bit this evening.
