Welcome! This is a belter of an appointment. x.com/cambridgeutdfc/status/1809919292848378197?s=46&t=YM-rIHs4Fvjjb1DkIeXqpQI sponsored (through a previous business) Charlton for a long time whilst Jason was a player there so I’ve seen him play many times - he was excellent. Having him with Garry and Barry gives me no end of confidence in our coaching set up and will help us to attract players to the club too. Really huge upgrade in this role imho.

Welcome! This is a belter of an appointment. Certainly come out of left field. An ambitious and progressive appointment.

Interesting one. I know nothing about him as a coach but he was a classy player. I'd expected someone with closer links to Garry Monk, following Betsy's departure, but hopefully this is a good upgrade.

Having read that I find it quite extraordinary that Jason hasn’t had a managers job yet. How much more qualified does he need to be? I’d have hoped that the game would have changed significantly enough to not see colour as an issue by 2024, but clearly a lot more work is still needed. In any event, I wonder if there is an element of succession planning going on here in case Garry moves on earlier than expected?

Looks a good appointment, a man of clear experience and coaching knowledge. Expect the finishing training to be on another level with him and Barry as coaches!

Did anyone else read the headline and think, great we’ve signed an experienced striker! Then I saw his age and realised he was more experienced than I thought.

Looks an interesting appointment. Also did anyone notice we have a new head of performance?

Still looks in good shape and only 10 years older than Wes was. He will keep the lads on their toes on the training ground.
Awesome player from the 90's and noughties so buzzing on this appointment.

Thanks for posting Andrew - on the one hand I'm absolutely delighted with this appointment ....could well be the most significant 'signing' of the transfer window....but on the other hand it's absolutely shocking how the world of football management is still putting up barriers to people who aren't white.

Seems a bit unusual to announce something like this on a Sunday

Or perhaps there were just better candidates and it’s not all about quotas.
