There are four logos on that twitter post. You can't tell me the one in the top left for the actual account doesn't look more striking than any of the three washed out efforts below it.
It's three if I had to choose, but that's looking mighty squished at smaller scales.

That is a very slick video so credit to the team for that.
I love the ideas behind 2 and 3 but they just don't work as a badge when put on the shirts, 1 looks the best and I also like that we will find ways to get United in Endeavour and 1912 onto the shirts and merchandise too.

1. None of those three 2. Bin the current one. 3. Start again and avoid any US influence in the design.
Finally, who is going to tell them it's a badge, not a crest?(see second part of 3.above).

Bin the badge/crest. Sell the shirt space for sponsorship and the sponsor designs the logo for the match they sponsor and have the letters C.U.F.C above it. I guess I'm saying the new badge/ crest should be C.U.F.C

Can’t understand the love for #1 - like a generic poundshop Inter Milan knockoff .

In fairness I'm not seeing much "love" at all. More "least disliked"

3 is the "least worst" for me. We need to have the club name on our badge as there are a few other cufc's

.... It's three if I had to choose, but that's looking mighty squished at smaller scales. Agreed. Option 3 is the only one of those 3 I'd kiss. but seen from a distance will look like a black smudge. Simply too much detail in a small space. As much as I dislike option 1 I think it looks ok from a distance, due to it being rather simple in design.
