Can you limit the 'Views' counter to genuinely new viewers? Checking back when no replies/modifications have been added shouldn't count for anything. It doesn't even correspond to page clicks. I don't believe that can be done - that's why there is a seperate count for views and post counts!

Who deleted, the 'NEW SIGNINGS" thread and why? Most likely a wind up but I don't really see why it was deleted as it was generating some genuine discussion points about whether or not we're going to be making more signings.

TBH I have missed some of the wind up threads, not every thread has to be serious and the only person that ends up looking the fool is the troll that started it.

Perhaps it shows this message board isn't as independent as people think?

Aye. Perhaps someone at the club requested it be taken down...

I wonder how many 37 year old males born on the 18th March there are working at the club...

For the reasons already given by Ricola I was disappointed to see it taken down. If El-G's theory is true then it might suggest there was some truth to it... Andrew

What about the thread was so controversial?

Supposedly an 'insider' leaking info about potential transfer targets / loan players. No specific names were mentioned though. I think the fact that no mods have answered my question about why it was removed means that El Goodo is right. It's a conspiracy!

Or the mods have lives outside this forum? I won't say who deleted the thread - I'll leave them to 'expose' themselves (oo er) if they so choose. Suffice to say, it wasn't me However it was taken down because of the poster claiming to be an insider at the club. That meant he/she was either lying or behaving inappropriately. The poster has been warned, and informed why the decision was made.

There's been a fair few threads lately in 'Football Chat' that don't relate to Cambridge United. Should 'Football Chat' be split into two sections? One for specifically Us related chat and the other for chat about clubs like Arsenal, Man Utd, FGR etc.
You sometimes find a comment on any of these threads suggesting they should be 'Social Chat' but these threads are clearly about Football so as it is they are in right place.
Has this been given any thought?

There no real need to split them up surely?
Don't need to click on them...

I guess it's not such a bad idea to have a separate non-united section, I certainly appreciate the occasional chin-wag about non-United subjects - the Arsenal one going off on a tandem about Belgian football being an example of this message board at it's most interesting.
...but I also like how stream-lined this all is, and the rarity of completely United-free discussions probably make dividing football chat into sub-sections not worthwhile.

Andrew Sorry for giggling, but that made me chuckle. Quite pertinent for a cycle bound city I suppose!! ;D
