Bet we can find some great pics of The Abbey. This is one I stumbled upon a while ago, hadn't seen it before but it's bloody beautiful:

It always makes me laugh how rubbish the NRE looks unless you are in it - what a ridiculous idea to build a 2/3 terrace! EDIT: Looks much better full, don't you think!

That aerial pic is top notch, and the one of the NRE is an excellent shot too (though I'm slightly biased on that one...!). Here are my contributions - the first I took myself after a game many years ago, and I'm not sure where I got the second from (possible the old message boards?) but I just think it's quite atmospheric.

Relaxing by the river. An award winning bacon buttie, please. Andrew What river? You mean the smelly lake, with (allegedly) a monster pike in it!

Great pics Oli, and do I spot some clever post processing on the first one?

I`m a bit crap at this uploading picture stuff so I`ll ask if one of you guys could kindly help out. I`ve a cracking framed and signed Abbey pic from 1990 called `A bit of a slog`, which I bought from thehomesoffootball a couple of years back while I was up in the lake district. The best I can do is this link www.homesoffootball.co.uk/collection/search/Cambridge%20united/1/324 but maybe someone could pull it up on to here. We`ve all got special memories associated with the U`s, but this is about as good as it gets for me. The pic will bring back good memories for anyone going at that time. The mud-bath of a pitch is incredible, remember how we mocked Histon Village for the state of theirs not that long ago? Also the fences at the allotments end? I remember getting covered in that red anti-vandal paint while climbing over them, the bloody stuff never came off. Nothing sinister about that though, it was the last game of the season and it was an `everyone on the pitch` celebratory job. I think it was the Swansea championship-winning game and home fans were allowed in the allotments end because of the bumper crowd. We were told we weren`t allowed on the pitch but lot`s of us climbed up on the fence ready to jump over at the final whistle, the stewards relented and opened the gates you see in the picture, people poured through and a few of us jumped over ruining our clothes in the process. Great days. Oh and Does anyone know who the guy painting the white lines is? Thanks in advance, Cam.

Yeah, that sunset pic is ace.
You can see just enough to make out it's the Abbey but the rest is left to the imagination. Love it!
