I have never liked them Bacon rolls they are plain plain, I prefer a nice old fashioned foot long we had them in the Dublin days.

The wooden spoon-fork (sporks?) provided with the spinach & feta pasty from the Habbin were some of the finest pieces of free cutlery I've ever been provided with. Didn't need it but kept it because it was so impressive. It's still sitting on our dresser in the living room...
ANYWAY...you could eat a pot noodle with one of those.

What are you going to eat Goulash, rice and beans and goat curry with eltel your fingers! Plastic SPOONS. The goat curry will only have small pieces of meat, we need to make a profit what about plastic sporks

I personally believe that sporks should not be aloud into football stadia, they could be used to Gauge someone's eye out thus rulling out pot noodles and goat curry, I belive that no cuttlery should be aloud and the food should have a more middle eastern feel so here is my ideas,
Donkey wraps with tzaziki Camel toes in pitta Lama burgers with iceberg lettuce Thieves hands chargrilled with stone bread
As you can see, none of these dishes need very dangerous cutlery.

Sad to report, I was a little disappointed by the much-vaunted chicken balti pie – little content, dry, burnt on top. I had to go back and assess the chicken and mushroom, which was much better.

For some reason the chicken and mushroom pie I had at the game yesterday wasn't anywhere near the standard it has been this season. It was tiny and over cooked, im not sure all or them were the same though. Shame

I miss the old bacon rolls we used to do. Think they stopped around 2009? A nice big roll with tonnes of bacon inside, they were pretty cheap too.

i must admit the bacon rolls have been a bit of a let down this season. mainly due to the roll being dry and sub-standard

The Chicken Balti pie I had on Saturday (from the main stand tea bar) was simply outstanding. Full of chicken, and the balti bit was excellent. Probably even better than the Kidderminster Harriers Shepherds Pie, and that is praise indeed!
I do think the catering is finally starting to go the right way. The pies in particular are very good, and it is nice to see home made food on the menu at the Abbey.

The food is defineatley an improvement on what we've seen the last few years, and will doubtless continue to improve as long as the caterers continue seek and act on feedback. However, as alluded to by others, whatever else we produce I'll always long for THOSE bacon rolls.

The biggest problem seems to be how hit and miss the food is. For example, my mates dad had a bacon roll at the Hyde game that had 1 rasher of bacon in it whereas I went to the same tea bar a few minutes later and got a perfectly acceptable bacon roll. On Saturday I got a decent cheeseburger yet my mate had a burnt to a crisp, crappy hot dog from the same tea bar minutes apart.
