Yep, Harris told me when he was at the petrol station this morning.
We got talking about other stuff too. I asked which oil his car took - petrol or diesel? "neither", he said. It takes snake oil.
But yes, I'd take 600k. Won't get a better offer in January. Put most of that towards a decent striker.
If this materialises then fair enough leaving Bennett out of the starting 11 I think, helps us to develop our play without him.

It'd be good money for a league 1 fullback if we got it. Very happy if that's true. Just a shame it's a Harris team. 🐍

If it does materialise, I hope we have a plan for who we want to bring in in that position because Gibbons playing a season as first-choice isn't ideal & Okedina, while he can can fill in there in a pinch, shouldn't be considered a genuine contender or back-up for it.

Will history judge Harris as a noble man who kept us up and earned us the biggest WAR CHEST since someone lost the Dion money?
Betteridge knows, but if that goes through we'll have done alright on the books.

600k with a sell on for a right back in the last year of his contract would good business. Would allow us to sign a replacement and good number 9 on a permanent, in addition to a couple of loans (probably a LB/LWB and another attacking option).
If Bennett were to leave I’d love to see someone like Brendan Wiredu as a replacement. RB who can carry the ball well, can play in the backline and even midfield too. I am surprised he’s still at Fleetwood.

I would take the 600k for sure but would it make finding someone any easier ? but if we can please don’t waste it on any more injury prone players this squad can not carry anymore of them

You would hope that as this appears to have been on the cards for a few weeks now that we will have a ready made replacement lined up, fit and ready to go.
Decent replacement and our defence will still look pretty solid with a good mixture of youth and experience. That will all be undone if whoever is in goal continues to make mistakes though.

No way was Reyes at fault for either goal at Stockport and against Crawley he couldn’t just stay on his line and let the attacker advance 9/10 a shot from that angle would have missed. On the other hand Stevens.

On the other hand Stevens. Stockport is a debatable one and was worse errors beforehand. The one on Saturday was a dreadful mistake compounded by the fact he ended up trying to block the shot with his foot. I agree he’s more reliable than Stevens, that really isn’t saying much though.

There's no way after two games, and letting in 3 goals, regardless of blame, that anyone can confidently say Reyes is more reliable than Stevens.

I am surprised he’s still at Fleetwood. No chance, sadly. He'll be off to the Championship or the top end of L1. Signed a contract extension towards the end of last season so the asking price is going to be pretty high, which presumably is why he's still there at this point.

[br Reyes responded well to the goal conceded at Stockport, he’s also young and inexperienced at this level. You don’t expect mistakes, but they will happen due to those reasons. Stevens is experienced, he made a mistake for the 1st goal on Tuesday and then responded by making another mistake (not for the first time) for the 2nd. In truth, neither look like they’re going to be good enough, but right now I’d say Reyes is just about more reliable and deserves a few more games to prove that. If you throw in (no pun intended) last season then Stevens is on a dreadful run of form. I personally don’t have faith in him as back up, let alone #1
