If you can lay any blame at Reyes for Saturday's goal, it is the pace and timing of his rushing off his line; he almost seemed to get out there too quickly, if that is possible and was flat footed when the striker took it around him, making it difficult for him to narrow the shooting angle. It was a good finish from near the byeline though.

I can't see us bringing in another keeper just need a bit of confidence into 1 of the 2 we have.
Heard a whisper today we might be in for Connor Wickham I know he is always linked and he is injury prone etc but it's only a whisper someone told me today.

Heard the same about Wickham at the game on Saturday. Would be surprised but if it goes on much longer then it becomes a case of somebody is better than nobody.

Was a proper handful when playing against us last season and scored a cracker. But… he wouldn’t be high on the list to fill the number 9 shirt.

The problem we've got regardless if it's Wickham / Hogan (either of which I think would do us well) or someone of that nature is that we then need to get them fit which means they could miss 2/3 matches so were then looking end of September before they can play a proper part assuming nothing is done prior to Saturday...

It would be funny but this is the 3rd season running when we have started the season so woefully short of the players we need... it seems to be a running joke now but surely questions need asking of the DOF once the dust settles.

We know what the problem is, Premier League teams are not releasing players who are not necessarily forming part of their squads until very late in the process due to the FFP rules, which has caused a backlog of planned transfers which all depend on upstream decisions (Championship clubs waiting on Prem loanees before they release their own loanees, etc) - we are not the only club waiting for this logjam to break.

I'm more concerned that we already have so many injuries and unfit players in the squad; at least one would expect that inbound loanees would be fit as they should have been training properly in hope of getting a squad place at their parent club.

Exactly this. I can't understand how the powers that be can be happy for it to operated like this year after year. I know we can't attract players demanding £££ so do we not look in other markets, or lower dowm. I feel Brophy was the last player signed from a League 2 club - ie someone looking to step up and that was 3 years ago. Who was the last from non-league - Jevani Brown ??

If we are now looking at the likes of Wickham then we are in the bargain basement again like Bonne in January. Feel we will end up with an unfit free agent like him and a young loanee from a PL/Champ club.
