Anyone but Klopp for me. Or Pep. Or Lampard. Or Derry. And especially anyone but Gerrard. I'd favour Carsley at the moment. Mainly because its already annoying the Southgate-outers on social media which is amusing, but also because his under 21 side were very successful playing some cracking football and you'd think he should be able to transition that to the grown ups while integrating some of the better players from that side over time. Andrew Let’s just say Klopp, Guardiola and Carsley were on the shortlist and all wanted the job. You’d favour Carsley? Seriously? Even Stoke turned him down recently. I wonder who the players would rather play for.

I would, yeah. I can't stand Klopp and Guardiola.
The players would probably favour them though, but that's not the point I was making.

I think the success Southgate has had dispite not having much of a club management carrer show that those skills are not always transferable to international management. We've made so many mistakes in the past plucking high profile managers that have waisted the talent available. I'd be all for a promotion from within especially in helping bring through the younger generation of players. I would take Carsley before those big names.

Favourite CUFC player: Spriggs. Dublin. Pitt. Lennett.
Favourite CUFC match: vs Leicester C (H) 1982. Without that...?

It’s arrogant to want those in that order? I don’t really understand your point! I hope our new striker is: 1. Haaland 2. Mbappe 3. Salah 4. Assombalonga I don't think Salah has the temperament for League 1.

Rooney confirmed at Plymouth I posted in the Stockport thread that the opening day fixture is completely meaningless. I'm now going to completely contradict myself and observe that Rooney's managerial career seems to have continued on its inauspicious 'journey' (apologies artvandelay).

Good spot Arbury. 4 goals conceded by Wayne Rooney’s Plymouth today and 4 goals conceded by Wayne Rooney’s Derby on Friday. Could be a pattern emerging. Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham picked up a point though.

And Wayne Rooney's DC United didn't play.
So 2-2, I guess!

I hope it works out for Rooney. No idea really if he actually is a good coach/manager or not, but I respect the fact that he's really trying to make a go of it & the way he's trying to go about doing so. It's obvious he really still loves football, which is quite nice to see too.

Even if Lowe is the worst manager in the world that's some crazy planning by Preston. Either get rid in the summer and give yourself pre-season under the new guy if 10th isn't good enough, or give him 15 games this season.

Lowe set to leave Preston, baffling If he takes a break for a couple of months or so, he should be rested, refreshed and ready to return to Plymouth by the time that job comes up again! 😂🤪😎

Lowe set to leave Preston, baffling All I can think of here is that Preston's Board has reviewed 'preparedness' over the close season and then seen a dissapointing first result, put 2+2 together and thought 'we're not ready and it really shows' and blamed the manager. Either that or they have someone lined up... Remember their Chairman is Peter Ridsdale.

Lowes decision. Apparently said he enjoys Monday - Friday but didn’t look forward to Saturdays.
They had been awful & the fans had turned so in that context it makes sense but the timing absolutely doesn’t.
Could Moyes go back there?
