While good enough for us to retain an underperforming manager the underlying numbers haven't saved this one. From the BBC article: "Kennedy had a strong relationship with statistics, and some of the underlying numbers do suggest Swindon are performing better than their league position suggests. It's not pulling-up-trees figures, but they are league-status-saving." www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cgk1y6gpmp7o

6 managers in 3 years does not show much patience. Hopefully the faith shown in Bonner and Monk show we won't ever find ourselves in that position.

Data and statistics can be manipulated to suit most arguments.

I didn't think it was possible to hate Swindon more than I already do.
Holloway is a bell end.

Sacking a manager the day before a game could only mean one thing .. and in comes that clown Holloway. He wouldn’t be interested if he wasn’t close to achieving 1,000 games in management.

Got a lot of time for Holloways advocacy around his three deaf daughters and everything he has done in that regard, but as a manager that is an absolutely dreadful appointment.
Guys best achievements were well over a decade ago now & he’s forged a punditry career largely because of quips and anecdotes that were made even longer ago.
Grimsby were lucky his management and other actions didn’t damage them more seriously or for longer.

It was only a matter of time. Man United are currently winning the competition for most ridiculous club in the Prem, currently beating Chelsea (which is some achievement!). A new manager won't change a thing. Something rotten at the core of the club.

Agree with you on that, a lot of the fans didn't want him sacked but results spoke for themselves. Too many ego's perhaps? With Ferguson being moved on recently you do wonder if Ratcliffe is starting a wholesale clear out.
Though I can't help but chuckle at their demise, a club that treats their fans awfully.

Too many egos seems to be a running theme at Man U. You'd think that given no one since SAF has been able to rein them in, they'd try not hiring so many weapons all the time.

A new manager won't change a thing. Something rotten at the core of the club. A telling quote from Ratcliffe: "In the past 11 years, Manchester United have had a lot of coaches and nobody has been successful in that environment," said Ratcliffe. "That says to me there is something wrong with the environment."For me, its a bit like the fallow period United had after Matt Busby stood down, similar at Arsenal after Wenger. The shadow of the former successful manager looms large and is sometimes difficult to shake off.
