Holloway in. (Why won't the link show properly?) You need to change the x at the start to twitter and it will show. Proboards Twitter will update it eventually! I think it more likely that X will go back to being twitter.

Would agree that there seems to be something fundamentally wrong with MUFC but I wonder if the triumvirate of Ratcliffe-Ashworth-Berrada is further compounding it rather than trying to put it right? They awarded Ten Haag a one year contract extension in May and then spent the summer sounding out potential successors in a non too subtle and pretty public fashion. A strange way to run a football club.

It's almost as if a man who has spent a career running a chemical firm and building shitty knockoff Land Rovers doesn't have the required skillset to run a failing football club? Who'd have thought.
Still funny as hell watching them fail and all those idiots who jumped on the MUFC bandwagon in the 90's having to suffer now.

I meant suffer over a longer term, basically post-Ferguson they've been a shadow of what they were under him. Same goes for Arsenal too, but at least they can fall back some imagined conspiracy to explain their lack of success.

"Suffer" is relative, right? Most Manchester United fans I ever hear spout their boring opinions believe they're entitled to a lot more than the FA Cup.

Playing in Europe, biggest club in the world and FA Cup holders.
Manchester United fans: No one has suffered like us, you wouldn't understand.
Probably in an Irish or home counties accent.

When might Premier League clubs come to the realisation that appointing bald managers does not inherently guarantee success akin to that of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City?

Ten Hag is a clown but has been more succesful than Arteta Winning a league cup isn’t more successful than finishing runners up, especially if you finish out the top four. Throw in his shocking recruitment, he’s left Man United in worse shape than when he arrived, so no chance he’s been more successful than Arteta.

But according to non-fans of Harry Kane, trophies are literally the only thing that matters.

Finishing 2nd is great, if you eventually go one step further and win it. Nobody cares who finishes 2nd, people do however remember trophy wins even if it's "just" the league cup. Ask Spurs, Newcastle, Villa if they'd like to win the league cup and they'd snap your hands off for it.

Every year we finished 2nd in the Conference, losing a playoff final, I'd say was more successful than whichever team finished midtable that year but won the FA Trophy. Same sort of thing in the Prem imo.
