I'll be in that neck of the woods soon for Epic Fest 2. [/quote] Hope you have a good trip. Not a bad line-up

I don't think Springsteen helps himself with the set list. He will play for 3 hours or so which is amazing but unless you know all his back catalogue you won't recognise half of what he plays. I saw him at Glastonbury and left with mixed feelings as he is obviously an excellent performer, but there were songs I'd have liked to have heard that he didn't play. I only became a fan by seeing him live. I knew little of him or his back catalogue at the time. I was absolutely blown away. I only knew about a half a dozen that night!

Elton John at Glastonbury. I wasn't going to miss it but was surprised at just how good a show he put on. He just rattled through the massive set list and I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of his but it really was quite epic. Biggest crowd for an act on the pyramid stage I've ever been in and I've seen most of the huge ones in the last 30 years.

As I've started posting in this thread... Belle and Sebastian were superb last night. I think they've played a different setlist every night on this tour.

I saw Belle and Sebastian at the Roundhouse on Tuesday last week. They are not a band I have really picked up on before but they had some super enthusiastic fans and that kinda helped.

Anyone been to a gig at Audley End before?
How arduous is getting parked? The advice is to allow for 90 minutes to get parked!
I'm going to see Noel Gallagher on Saturday, after the match, having returned to Royston to pick up my wife.

Park in Saffy Waffy and walk it?
Not been to a gig there, but seen cars filing out one by and one it looks horrendous. Bit of an upgrade on the usual Tom Jones and classical tosh up there though!
Anyway, who expected Lizzo to go from headlining Glastonbury to being on the nonce list so swiftly?

About an hour sitting in the car, then once out of the field and onto the single track nice and straightforward.

BODEGA at The Portland on the 22nd should be an excellent one. I'm going to Krankenhaus in a couple of weeks. Don't know much about most of the bands but will definitely check out BODEGA (I think there's only one stage, so won't have much choice unless I fancy a bit of heron watching).

Excellent festival from an excellent band. As well as Sea Power, would also recommend checking out Hamish Hawk - last couple of albums "Angel Numbers" and "Heavy Elevator" worth your time, both up on Bandcamp / Spotify if you fancy an early listen - Heartworms, Personal Trainer (a seven piece from Amsterdam, a lot of fun live, similar in that sense to BODEGA) and Jeffrey Lewis, but you can't go wrong with most of that line-up. Rozi Plain also excellent if you fancy something a bit more folky. Have worked with Sea Power in my day job and they've always seemed a lovely lot. Have fun.

Cheers! I've been listening to a couple of Spotify playlists (when there's been no cricket) while painting fence panels most of the summer. Personal Trainer and W.H. Lung stand out. DSM IV sound good too.

H.Hawkline is/are also playing. Sound very similar to Hamish Hawk but are apparently completely unrelated

Krankenhaus always as an amazing lineup, i should really go one of these days. Would've liked to have seen The Lovely Eggs again but they've not really toured this year.
I'm off to End of the Road at the end of the month/start of September which is always a good weekend.
