Rashford & Henderson out of the Euro's squad according to Sky Sports Completely get Rashford and Henderson being out, yet Grealish is in..? Totally different type of player to pretty much all the other options on that side & he is at least a player at arguably the best team in the world. Depends what we want to do on that flank but if Foden's going to play through the middle with any regularity I'd take young Tony Gordon as an option for that wing. Or Eze of course.

Interesting to see Wharton in the training squad, I'm not expecting him to go but he's looked excellent. Stood out against us.
Quansah is an interesting one. Must admit I don't really know a lot about him.

I thought Wharton would make his England debut within 12 months of leaving Blackburn but didn't think it'd be quite this soon. Good option in the middle though. Keeps the ball and uses it well, and good off it too. More suited to the way England try to play than Gallagher is, who's a good high-press merchant, but that isn't what England do.
Think Jones is a bit fortunate to be there though.
Quansah's going to be a good player but the cynic me does think his inclusion here is with half an eye on the fact that he's also eligible for play for 3 other countries... Think Dunk's fortunate to be there too. Guess there's a slight dearth of high-level English CBs at the minute. Sort of though Dier might be back.

Solanke must be wondering what he has to do to get in! And losing out to (I guess) Toney.
Surprised the other Liverpool lad, Harvey Elliot didn't get a shout as heard a fair bit about him this season.
Happy enough with the midfield and striker selection though, defence is our biggest weakness I feel.

Wouldn't play Elliot in the centre at that level (yet) and he's not going to get in on the wings.

We're pretty stacked in wide areas, yeah. Elliott is decent but he has to go up a level to get ahead of some of the other options.

Also 7 players are going to be cut from this squad. It's reasonably clear even at this point who they're going to be.

Trafford, Quansah, Dunkyboob, Gomez, Jones.
Not sure who I'd go for after that. I'm pretty happy with whoever gets in. Looks like a strong squad and I can't immediately think of someone I think shouldn't have missed out.

Nah I think Gomez will go. Versatility too useful to ignore.
Trafford, Dunk, Branthwaite, Quansah, Jones, Maddison, Eze would be my guess.

I think Bowen/Maddison will miss out + Trafford, Dunk, Quansah, Jones, Wharton & Eze. 33 seems a crazy number to start with as the squad was already extended to 26 so would have thought 30 tops

Anyone on here going out to Germany? This time last year me and some friends made some very early plans for a 3-5 day trip out there just to see some random games not bothering about the circus following England.
Then we realised that as all men with young families, a week abroad in the middle of a school term would probably mean the potential end of our marriages so just looking forward to watching Albania v Slovenia on TV from the comfort of my sofa.

Brophy left out again Solely because Southgate doesn't take his squad advice from the NRE. Disgraceful. #SouthgateOut
