And I was there. All true, apart from the header. It was a Bromleyesque ballsup by their keeper, Paul Bradshaw IIRC, who allowed a lolloping long ball through his legs on the edge of the box, for a wee tap-in. I was there and remember it a bit differently. Didn’t Emlyn Hughes stand on the ball allowing Floyd to run through and scuff it past the keeper, right in front of us?

I’d bet good money on Floyd strolling around the vicinity of the keeper, and either a punt forward from us, or a back pass, the ball going through the grasp and legs of Bradshaw and Floyd tapping into an empty net.

Expecting some 1st class social media trolling from MK Dons asking if Wimbledon want to ground share whilst their pitch is repaired.

Seeing an awful lot of moaning by Big 6 clubs that the bloated European Super League they forced UEFA to create means that their poor players are having to play too many games.
Which part of domestic football is next to be sacrificed to appease them?

Been thinking this for a while - why on earth are we stopping games for 'injuries'?
Today (Lincoln), one of theirs went down early on by their fans. Their players wanted us to kick it out, we didnt, they won the ball and played on, we got it back and then ref stopped it. Why? You can tell if an injury is life threatening.
Same with O'Conner in 2nd half. Goes down holding head, nothing wrong with him but stops a promising move. He was close to the edge of pitch so could roll off if that bad, or even allow physios on to treat while game goes ahead.
On that note, why do refs pause the game for players to do up shoelaces. At U6 level fair enough but not now!

At U6 level fair enough but not now! Same here. Probably because of the high profile head injuries a few years ago in the Prem suffered by Raul Jimenez and Ryan Mason to name a couple which led to implement NFL style concussion protocols which Jobe had to follow last season. But it does seem the pendulum has swung so far over that it could become a legitimate tactic to instruct your players to go down with a head “injury” if you’ve lost the ball and stop the other team in its tracks like what happened today. Once the ref has made that decision once, it could be very difficult to put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Although the rules were followed and there was absolutely no wrong doing, it feels slightly wrong that Leandro Trossard was able to serve his 1 match ban for a midweek League Cup game that he was never in a million years going to play in and therefore is available for Arsenal’s Prem game yesterday and scores an important goal.
I think match suspensions should be restricted to the competition they occur in. You also wouldn’t have the situation of players missing out on big cup games because they accumulated 5 yellows in the league. Sam Smith missed out the Newcastle game because he got sent off against Portsmouth in the league.

The FA Cup does have competition specific suspensions for accumulated yellow cards, they don't carry over from League matches. However, red cards carry over into the next matches, regardless of which competitions they were 'earned in'.
I do agree about Trossard's ban though; the League Cup is a distraction to the top teams, always resting their stars.

But he is not a first team player like rice or saka, both of whom started btw so it is likely he would have got a run out in that game.
