Gary Lineker to leave the Match of the Day gravy train: www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdd456rzg75oParticularly like the second sentence 'It is expected to be announced officially tomorrow by the BBC', considering that this is on ....the BBC Sport website!

He did, yeah, later in the video. I've not seen anyone mention that though (apart from just now), the only comments on twitter I've seen talk of proven agendas and bias. Andrew I’m no longer on that cesspit and have only read the first part of the article on the guardian website. Got bored with it because him being a c*nt is hardly news!

Not that I watch MOTD but a job share of Gabby Logan and Mark Chapman would be good. Neither would be the BBC’s top earner like Lineker and wouldn’t be the lightening rod when the subject of BBC talent pay comes up every week.

Mark Chapman is IMO easily the best sports presenter the BBC have and I would be very happy if he was promoted to the top job from MOTD2.

Mark Chapman world be my first choice. He's brilliant.
Just glad JJ is out of the picture.

Mark Chapman would fully deserve it, really knowledgeable and speaks well. Always liked Gabby Logan too but can’t see a shared role there.
I certainly won’t miss that hypocritical twit Lineker though that’s for sure.

Mark Chapman is the obvious and best choice. I’d be surprised if he got it though. I like Gaby Logan or there’s Kelly Cates from Sky (probably can’t afford her), also Eiladh Barbour is very good.

Blimey, I mean he's not wrong in fairness but I stand by my blimey. Andrew Why would someone release it now, over 4 years later. Very strange. The other bloke in the video is apparently a professional cricketer with Notts.

Referees are 100% the type to smash the Chaplain with a mate who is in the nets for Notts.

Apparently Coote did a Q&A at a local club he now plays at in Notts and it may have happened afterwards. All speculation of course

Cates is a very good shout - Chapman is fine but I do like Linekar and he will be a big loss to the programme.

As pundits, fine, but aside from Lineker (who I really like because he has the ability to ask questions of the pundits that a layman might) I think non-footballers do a better job of chairing the discussions. That said, unless they improve the spectacle of Premier League football by undoing most of the nonsense they've inflicted on it over the past 10-15 years I'll still be fast forwarding through the punditry, and just watching the games, as usual. Talk of VAR and conspiracies and referring decisions and finances etc. is still shite whoever is doing the actual talking.
