Was it just the one test on the telly? It are they showing others?

I would be uneasy with Moeen at 3. It didn't come off for him when he played there against India and Sri Lanka in 2018, scoring just 82 runs in 5 innings. I'd leave Lawrence there, he showed enough against Sri Lanka to merit another chance.

The Channel 4 presenter, Rishi Persad, who grew up in Trinidad, moved to Cambridge as a 12-year-old to go to The Leys School on Trumpington Road.

Don't you think that little double act needs a bit of spicing up? Anyway potentially a 15,000 crowd there on Saturday under refreshed Indian Covid rules. Whilst potentially it brings back the concept of a sporting 'home' fixture to go against England, I know what I'd prefer to experience.
Additionally, I see the Ch 4 viewing figures over the five days were on a par with previous Sky numbers, eg Sri Lanka recently. In a nutshell, on average, it's the same old farts watching test match cricket at deathly hours in the morning. Give or take a few non-Sky boys on here.

I saw about double what the summer tests vs Pakistan & West Indies got & at must less convenient times & grew throughout the week with very little advertisements. The like for like Saturday was up 600k from Sri Lanka. It'll be a bit better now Ebony has been brought in, hard for one pundit alone to fill long breaks.

Tom,
I just read my weekly 'spin' email from the Guardian which is a sign up thingy, free although I've never had the Guardian in my life. If you can't find it I'll email it to you.
Ebony would transform things, I'd suggest.

Anything to dilute Alastair. Just never seems 'natural' to me on the telly. Confidence must be running high. Be interesting to see if the crowds can help India to raise their game. Looking forward to it.

That's probably how I would bring him into the team, but I think it would be harsh on Bess. Dropping Lawrence would add a 4th spinner (Root underbowls himself!) and weaken (on paper) the batting line up. We are suffering by letting Bairstow head home after Sri Lanka, although I appreciate Crawley was pencilled in for No3 before his unfortunate injury.

Looking forward to it. Give Cookie time, he does look a little ill at ease in the studio, but so did many before him. A bit of media training for the likes of Atherton and Hussain, and even Lineker certainly helped them become much more comfortable in front of the camera. I think he has plenty to offer.

Could be worse, could be Vaughan. He is happier in front of camera, but to mine eyes just seems to want to fill the cantankerous position of Boycott...and fails miserably. But Noycott I actually like !
