Taylor deserves criticism for his attitude since Harris went, and for the mistakes that he’s made, that have cost the team. What I completely abhor though is any fan that boos or shouts personal insults at him ( or any U’s player ) at the game. I’ve never done that to any U’s player and never will. I’m also uncomfortable at anything that looks like a witchhunt, and it’s sort of going that way with Taylor. I know that puts me in a minority, but there it is.

There is never an excuse for personal abuse. Bonne and Taylor were called all sorts last night. Criticise and call for them to be subbed (in Bonnes case) but the vitriol is completely unnecessary. Digby was being called a Cnut 5 mins in to the game cos he dallied on the ball. Would appear the person who posted that about Taylor on X is glorifying in the fact he got a bite out of a professional footballer, wow.. you’re cool.. Not sure who is more childish, him or Taylor.

Hang on, what the f is a 'chairboy' anyway? Andrew "Wycombe was once renowned for chairmaking (the town's football team is nicknamed the 'Chairboys') and furniture design remains an important element of the town's university curriculum, Buckinghamshire New University." It's not LGBT+ slang! 😁

Outside of Histon 5-0 era’s and the managers like Derry, i’d agree..but also woth one game left where you need a point for league safety, I just can’t see a world where you allow someone who clearly doesn’t care about their future at a club based on a response like that, to have influence in said clubs future..
Can you imagine we’re 1-1 and defending a corner in the dieing minutes and he was to give away another penalty?! Monk’s affinity with the fans is still pretty questionable at best, let alone if he were to let him play.
No social media comment, maybe or Mid season, you can build it back etc, but not a game with such importance..just can’t see it now.

The guy's clearly an idiot and taking it to social media is incredibly unprofessional.
Having said that - and I know this won't be a popular view - the abuse that some of our players get doesn't sit well with me at all. Especially players like Brophy and Digby (and there have been plenty more over the years), who might be limited footballers but have served the club well over several seasons.
In the case of Taylor it's arguably deserved, but fans getting high and mighty about it on social media also look a bit silly? If you're going to give it out, don't go crying on Twitter when he gives it back.

It's Monk's job to put out the team that he feels is most likely to win us the game, and with the squad down to the bare bones at the moment , he may not have much choice

Personally, I don't like all this abuse being directed his way. It wasn't a pen last night, IMO, we got done by the ref, not Lyle Taylor.
Has he been amazing? No, he let us (and himself) down against Bolton and since starting with a bang, he hasn't been great for us.
But then again, who has? Gassan has played better up front, but out of the whole squad, there's a bunch of 6/10 averages, Lyle Taylor included.
Going for your own players lacks class. I'm disappointed some of our fans have resorted to that. In a big week for the club, it's the last thing we need. His reaction likewise.

Taylor acting like the grown-up, professional athlete he is 🙄 View AttachmentThis Harvey Keates is a right bell end. What a twit to annoy one of our players before a very important match.

If you tell a player to f*ck off then they are entitled to respond in kind, but carrying it on the next day on social media isn’t a good look especially as one of the “senior” players.
The guy is captain of his country for heavens sake.
Anyway, I thought he was a prick before we signed him and I still do. I hope we never see him again.

Like I said, we've still got a job to do. Don't need to worry about Lyle getting into a social media spat with a supporter who was probably full of emotion/tension when they posted. Lyle will know that he has bad better games and if he scores the winner on saturday he will have every cambridge fan singing his name. Nor every one, that's for sure. He shouldn't be anywhere near the squad on Saturday.

Hang on, what the f is a 'chairboy' anyway? Andrew No idea. I thought, for years, that they were the choirboys, and what a crap nickname that was. Chairboys is probably worse unless I’m missing something.
