Game in the balance, but the late wicket by Leach makes us favourites for me; Pakistan have a dodgy and long tail, if we can get into that I can't see them knocking off the runs required.

Another excellent victory which looked touch and go at one point. A tonic after the football team on Saturday!

Indeed! An amazing two matches.
And fair dos - I was quite sceptical as to whether Stokes was the best choice as captain, after Root resigned. I'm very happy to admit that it certainly looks like he was!

I was dubious about him as captain. He's becoming a Mile Brearley is he, limiting his own involvement with bat and ball. Luckily we seem to have good options with both at the moment.

I see the Rawalpindi pitch was marked down as 'below average' by the match referee. Interesting call that, normally associate sub standard pitches with ones that batsmen struggle on! Good to see the balance between bat and ball (both ways) is factored in though.

Wow a 3-0 series win away from home! That's a fantastic performance by England.

Another exciting win inside 4 days in New Zealand. 10 out of 11 for Stokes & Mccullum. Bring on the ashes!

Obv big question has been where Bairstow gets back in. He has to, and Crawley should really go, just means fiddling with the openers which does not always feel as easy as with middle order for whatever reason.
But I'd be happy for Bairstow to open, or Brook for that matter.

My problem with this team, and it's definitely my problem, is Stokes annoys me. I don't like the way he talks or the way he currently plays.
I also didn't like Root for a long while, or Broad when he was younger. Obv none of this matters just sharing.

Hopefully we can beat the Aussies this summer but feel BazBall will be tougher in India next Winter.

I like Stokes, his combative nature, not prepared to let a game drift, wants to be dictating the pace of play and has all his players buying into that. How he responds when it goes the wrong way (the Aussies will fancy their chances this summer make no mistake about that!) will be interesting, because it won't always pay off.
Interesting to read Root say this week that he has struggled to adapt and felt he was due a century. What better way to respond than to do it in his next innings. Also, whisper it quietly, Bairstow's injury has allowed us to unearth another absolute gem in Harry Brook. His potential is frightening!

Harry Brook is something else.
Crawley needs dropping with possibly Bairstow coming in. How they shuffle the order to accommodate that who knows. Maybe Pope or Stokes to open? We’re very fortunate to have plenty of depth in the squad now with the exception of the openers.
NZ are a classy side. I feel like they’re a bit over the hill now with the younger crop of players coming through not quite matching the 2010s team. All of their stars are well into their 30s.
