Fantastic result, beating a championship side despite a lack of 6th choice centre back and the disarray in our back room staff.

If Bonner had a dressing room he’d have definitely lost it by now ….

That was decent.
Ipswich were good at playing through the lines in the first half and dragged our fullbacks out of position a number of times to whip in some good crosses. Morro and Lennett were on the end of most of them, though. Not sure what Bonner did at half time but in a shock 'Plan B' twist we suddenly started stopping them from either dragging our fullbacks out of position or playing through us quite so often and saw a lot more of the ball as a consequence.
Stevens had a fairly simple afternoon. A couple of his clearances were charged down which was less than ideal, and he shanked the ball out at least twice, but largely his kicking was pretty much where he wanted to put it. Dimi tended to hit them to the left or right but most of Stevens were straight down the throat of their defence for Gassan.
He tried playing a couple over their high line a couple of times and wasn't far off putting Gassan in...it's a ridiculously fine pass to make but I wouldn't mind thinking he might get close to an assist this season doing that. Made a really good save low down to his right early in the second half.
Thomas hasn't really been spoken of as a midfielder much. I think we've all been expecting him to be a number 10 type but he was pretty handy alongside Digby today. Recycles the ball well, carries it, physical enough, mobile enough. We'll see how that translates into a 50+ game season...(!).
Janneh was decent too. If we're handing out clean slates and that was the first time you'd seen him then most people would be moderately impressed.
The trialist looked worth another look. Nothing amazing in his 15 minutes but he tracked back well, held a good position, good pace, did nothing wrong with his touch. It was all ok.

From Fair Play rules point of view Todd Miller is a free player? If we can afford a season of him, I think we should put him on our books. Not much downside. He must know that once he hits 21 it will be harder to get a contract. Plenty of incentive to train hard.

Says he's talking to 'good players' who haven't signed for anyone yet but aren't committing yet to any club. The issue is with them players not CUFC who are definitely chasing he says. . Must include a striker or two I'd reckon. Bonne must be one of those 'good players'. Also said Miller - didn't name him - will stay for another week as they assess him.
