It's a fairly common thing now to have 3 senior keepers but can't help think it's a waste of resources at times. We like 3 keepers as it's what we've had every year Bonner's been charge so clearly don't see it as a waste of resources. I expect Holden is on more or less a youth teamer's wage and I can't imagine Mannion commanded a huge amount signing from doing nothing in Cyprus.

As others have said, was a starting keeper for a playoff side for two seasons. The fact it’s not gone so well since is probably why he’s an option for us. And Bonner loves a regeneration project.
At the end of the day, if he turns out to be crap, I feel perfectly comfortable having Mannion come in. So not too worried really.

Will Mannion's literally never put a foot wrong. Would be gutted for him if this means he's sub keeper again for another season.

I trust Bonner absolutely but there’s a small part of me that just wishes less of our signings would come here without a point to prove or a career to rebuild.
I also appreciate that’s part of the position we are in, and that more often than not it works out, but I was hoping this rebuild would be based on dead certs.
I don’t mean that to sound as negative as it probably does.

Ticks the Bonner signing criteria:
Some experience at the level ✔️ Point to prove/suffered set back ✔️ Not at peak yet ✔️
5-6 more please

Sure Sam Smith caught it when on loan here and was out for a bit too as it does weaken the body. Yeah it meant his season finished in February.

Agree Umbro have been well out of date with most of there products for years,After Hummel what ever kit manufacturer would have been a down grade on designs

Looking at the replies and quote tweets on the Oxford announcement, most are sad to see him go and a few saying a fresh start is best for both parties. A typical Bonner signing and one I'm quite happy about.

View from another Oxford fan: "Looked really good when he first came into the team and had premier league interest at one point but dropped a couple of clangers which seemed to dent his confidence and he never recovered and lost his place. Think it was a similar story at Port Vale last season too but there's definitely a decent keeper there if he can recover his confidence. In terms of strengths and weaknesses he has great reflexes but a bit of a weakness on long shots, oh and be prepared for plenty of long balls ending up in the stands "
