The answer here is obvious: send Mannion to Walsall for six months. As we already have some Midlands based phrases along these line, such as "Gone for a Burton" or being "sent to Coventry", it's only fair we respect Walsall in this tradition. Wang him off to Walsall is the best I've got, any pioneers fancy a crack?

He played in 9 of their 13 wins and 11 of their 23 defeats. It seems to show they did better with than without him.

He was also their young player of the season 2 years ago. Clearly form has apparently dipped recently, but definitely seems to be enough to be hopeful.

I have faith born of experience that Bonner generally makes good signings. How much of that is Strang doesn't impact my faith as we have Strang too. I hope we sign loads of mystery players. An interesting season is great if we survive.

Interesting one this. Stevens has never really established himself as number one keeper at Oxford. Not playing at all for them last season and getting a maximum run of 13 games the season before. I see him as an equal to Mannion and it will be up for grabs who starts the first match.

He played for them 40 times in 20/21 and 30 times in 21/22 according to soccerbase.

He played 33 league games in 20/21 when Eastwood was injured. Then started the first 13 in 21/22 then out for 14, played 10 out for 3 then finished the season with 6. Most of the time Eastwood was injured or coming back from injury. A similar appearance profile to Mannion.

He played 48 straight league games for Oxford (and much more than that in total), if over a season as 1st choice doesn't establish you as it then what does? Mitov had a maximum run of 14 league games for us last season, does that mean he wasn't established as our number 1?

Jack has played 92 games in L1. Will has played 15.

Jack has played 92 games in L1. Will has played 15. Yeah don't understand the comparison there. He sounds more compatible to Mitov in terms of experience.

Oh dear, the MB mafia are already trying to condemn a player who hasn't played a minute for us. Be reasonable, at least give him 45 minutes before you condemn and crucify him!
Good luck Jack, looking forward to seeing you establish yourself at our great club!

I'm not trying to talk anyone down. Yes JS has played more than WM,but with the same senirio getting his chance when the first choice is injured. As soon as the first choice is ok then out the team. I don't think there will be much between them.

I don't think there will be much between them. That's not what happened though. Stevens was number one for a good chunk and then got ill at Oxford. Then moved to Vale was number one and got dropped for the previous number one at Port Vale.
