As long as they're still getting paid I doubt it.
Mitov maybe different, there's no way imo he'd have gone to Scotland, had he a better offer L1/Championship, that just didn't happen, I don't buy into the suggestion he went there for any other reason Reading are a basket case at the moment and HMRC have issued another winding up order so if they are getting paid its possibly late. I just wonder how they will feel it they get relegated and find themselves in Lg 2 next season. I was always surprised that given his goal record, Smith didnt end up a higher league 1 club. Maybe there wasn't as much interest in them or as their agents hoped possibly even money wise. If they don’t get paid the EFL have already said another points deduction will follow, they are totally screwed.

If they don’t get paid the EFL have already said another points deduction will follow, they are totally screwed. Footballers in the EFL will always get paid because they are protected by the PFA and become preferential creditors when a club goes into administration. So they may be paid late, but there's no question they will get paid eventually. TBH I can understand why both Knibbs and Smith opted for Reading. Exactly 13 months ago today, Reading beat Huddersfield to sit third in the Championship and dreams of a return to the Premier League were realistic. It's mad to think that in such a short time period, they're potentially staring League Two in the face, but they will come good again, like Bolton and Portsmouth have. The only Championship size club which seems to continually underperform is Bradford. They're shocking again this season and have been in the bottom two tiers for nearly 20 years now, and in the bottom tier for five, yet still average 16,000 on the gate.

View from another Oxford fan: "Looked really good when he first came into the team and had premier league interest at one point but dropped a couple of clangers which seemed to dent his confidence and he never recovered and lost his place. Think it was a similar story at Port Vale last season too but there's definitely a decent keeper there if he can recover his confidence. In terms of strengths and weaknesses he has great reflexes but a bit of a weakness on long shots, oh and be prepared for plenty of long balls ending up in the stands " Your Oxford Fan was right unfortunately

He's shot, confidence has gone and hes looking worse every week. Yes Oxford fans and Port Vale were correct.

He seems like quite a sweet lad. I enjoyed listening to that. Also liked hearing him talk about how excited everyone was when telling him about the Peterboro game last year. That's cute. Andrew Perhaps the team and Stevens got too excited about the Peterborough match, that’s when it started going wrong not just for the team but also particularly for Stevens.

He's at best, a slightly lower than average keeper.
At the Stevenage away game, during the warm up, he looked as nervous as hell and very sullen and moody. I thought that he didn't enjoy having a load of very expectant United fans behind him. Needless to say he went on to have another nightmare of a game.
He's a liability in goal as far as I'm concerned. I'd much prefer Mannion between the posts. At least he has a bit of drive and passion about him.

We sat in the corner of the side stand at Boro, so had a good view of the goal/Stevens, we commented then about some v dodgy kicking, nerves had got to him.

I actually blame Monk and Davies for yesterday more than I do Stevens. The way Pish scored, the howler against Northampton, the 6 against Lincoln (that’s just a few recent examples) Mentally that’s going to damage any goalie. Yet the GK coach and head coach really thought he was fine to play yet again yesterday.. The 2nd goal was down to him still thinking about the 1st one. Not only are you damaging Stevens by not taking him out of the firing line, you’re denting the confidence of Mannion by seemingly not trusting him enough to come in.

At fault for Northampton’s equaliser
Should/could have done better at Stevenage
First 2 goals should have been saved at Reading
At least 2 were at his near post or through his legs at Lincoln

I thought he was suspect for Cheltenham’s winner.

Not sure how much I blame Stevens when the defence ahead of him leaves him so exposed. He could have done better for both for sure but unless we address our wide open midfield and stupidly high defensive line with slow defenders that can't press/recover then I think the issues will persist. There's a lot of 'blame' to be shared.
I'd start Mannion against Barnsley though, for sure. At this point you have to, I think.
Bomb them both out in the summer though I'd say.

You can say the same about May, Rossi, Okedina. I Said to my lad yesterday at HT I felt sorry for Adam May. He is one of the promotion/Newcastle Heroes, had a terrible injury but is being overlooked for Cousins & Digby. Digby being asked to play higher up was one of the many clangers yesterday until he was swapped over at HT. Can he be any worse? Same for Okedina. He was actually in the side when Harris took over and we won games in December.

He gambled on coming for it (which might have put off the Northampton player but didn't/Stevens was never going to get to the ball) but, had he stayed on his line, there is no way he would have been able to save the header which was travelling at great speed from a short distance. The first two goal yesterday were awful from his perspective. His kicking has also seriously deteriorated. I remember thinking in the first few home games that his kicking looked as good as any U's keeper I can remember!!
