Fleetwood supporters said Andrew has decent delivery but can’t defend they have it spot on at the moment .

I think part of the issue really is that he's not noticeably slower than anyone else we've had at left back in recent years. Rennett and Morrison are solid in the middle but are also slow, so we rely on getting into quite a deep rigid defensive shape. If we get pulled out of shape by the opposition press, or our own bad clearances etc, we don't have the pace to recover.

But a thread hadn’t been resurrected to slag him off To say someone is being slagged off or made a scapegoat is to suggest the criticism isn't warranted. That's not the case here. If someone wants the perks of being a professional footballer, it comes with the down side that their performances will be scrutinised. Danny Andrew has been unconvincing since virtually day one at the club in my opinion, and I know for a fact that I'm not alone in holding that view. Both goals came down his side on Monday night. I appreciate Liam Bennett also shoulders much (arguable most) of the responsibility for twice being beaten at by his man at the far post, but for Liam, that's one poor showing in what has otherwise been a very strong start to the season. For Andrew however, it's more of the same. Stopping the ball from being crossed into the box is literally his main responsibility as a left back and he fails almost every time. Not because he's been isolated two-on-one or because he's facing a classy winger who can beat fullbacks with ease, but one-on-one with a bang average League One wide man and the ball comes into our box almost every time. Pointing out these things isn't slagging off or making scapegoats, it's highlighting poor performances that needs to improve if we're going to have a successful season, particularly given we released a very sold full back in the summer and our other two left backs are always injured. Fair points but my post was slightly tongue in cheek

Yeah, decent player. Always impressed me when I saw him play so I was pleased to see we signed him.
Done mostly pretty well for us too, mostly. Reminds me of an older Iredale a bit.

I've not been his biggest fan but I thought he was great yesterday, even if I felt he was lucky not to concede a penalty(not that I understand the handball laws!).

I reckon if we had VAR we maybe might've conceded a penalty, but it's nowhere near clear cut enough to be given at our level.

When was the penalty shout? Don't remember it watching online.

I've not been his biggest fan but I thought he was great yesterday, even if I felt he was lucky not to concede a penalty(not that I understand the handball laws!). His arm looked like it was in a natural position given the body movement from where I was stood in the South Habbin. Big shout from the Carlisle fans though…

Yeah never a penalty in a non-VAR world, belted at him from a yard away in a natural position.
But yeah, obviously it's worth a shout when you're 1 down in the 11th minute of 9 added on.

I came on here and criticised Danny Andrew a few weeks ago, so it’s only fair that I come on and say I thought he had a very good game yesterday, coping well with the fact Janneh ahead of him had a really poor night.
The dynamic between him and the player ahead of him definitely isn’t as slick as the dynamic between Brophy-for-England and Lennett, but that’s probably not a surprise given how often our left winger has chopped and changed this season. Hopefully that’s something they can work on.
But overall, aside from a couple of wayward passes, I thought Danny had a solid game and looked much better defensively. He was a bit lucky to stay on the pitch, with a studs on thigh tackle with about 8 mins left having already got a yellow, but tbf to Danny he only got that yellow in the first half because Janneh lost possession and put him in a position where Danny needed to take one for the team.

Andrew must have severe Brophy envy, with a succession of not very defensive minded right wingers sat in front of him while Lennett gets babysat by an inverted converted left back.
Janneh was indeed particularly shocking last night. Didn’t even notice the horlicks he made of the rebound from Rennett’s header, with Fej ready for a tap in had he squared it rather instead of 50p-heading it into touch.

Bonner said the other day that Janneh's not hit the levels since he returned from injury that he was at the start of the season. People can say what they want about Kaikai's impact on games so far, but he at least hasn't put in a car crash of a 45 minutes that that was.
Been the exception rather than the norm this season from Janneh though so I'm sure he'll be fine once he finds his rhythm again. He looks quite a different player in general – much better off the ball & seems to really understand his role in our set-up in a way he didn't seem to last year.
