Not convinced myself. The rest of the interview was full of veiled insults and bitterness so I'm inclined to think 'bizarrely' was along the same lines. It was delivered in a fairly dismissive tone too. Its a word to elaborate on, not throw away in post match sour-fest.
'Surprisingly' is perhaps a better word, but even then in the context of an otherwise miserable interview it feels pretty clear to me what he was trying to convey.
It's an excellent grumpy interview. It splendidly highlights his toxic personality, sense of entitlement and simmering insecurity. I hope to hear many many more like it this season.

Spot on, 99.9% of punditry is utter tripe, the best highlights I've ever seen was the motd after linekargate. State of Ainsworth shirt. And that was the worst I’d ever seen. But we all see things differently. Match of the Day highlights have changed significantly over the years. They rarely show the final whistle now, which I find odd. They used to edit the match so it actually felt like you were watching a whole game but now the context is lost. They also seem to chat for longer than the actual highlights. Anyway, I only tend to watch these days after the U's have had a good result and I'm in the mood for more football. The Premier league is boring compared to the Mighty U's .

I agree and have for many years, the premier league is really boring. I wish the same old teams would just push off to a whatever they may call it...'super euro league'.....and the leftovers join the proper efl and we carry on where we left off prior to 1993 when all those supposed 'wonder'clubs thought they were god's gift. F..k em. Let 'em go. We'd be a lot better off without them Rant over.

Noticed half the teams in League one have played 3 of their first four games away. Bit of a weird way to have the fixture list no? I know it evens out at the end of the season but can't imagine the teams with that start are happy. They'll be delighted if they have 3 homes in their last 4!

It's only 4 games gone. But I'd rather be top than bottom.

Heading into the final part of the transfer window. Looks like many clubs are still struggling to find forwards. Oxford are resorting to paying big bucks for Jack Marriott. Charlton and now Bolton have been linked with a big money move for JCH from Pish, though Bristol Rovers seem to be the front runners.
If those transfers go ahead I'd imagine Fleetwood and Pish will be another two more League 1 clubs frantically after forwards in the final few days of the window. Exeter are set to lose Nombe as well, so can put them in the same group too.
Should be an interesting week, and there's bound to be disappointed clubs by the looks of things.
Also wonder if League 2 and National League teams being able to spend vast amounts in the last season or so, is partly to blame for such a competitive and small market? League 1 clubs don't just have to worry about clubs from higher divisions or bigger league rivals, you have the likes of Wrexham being able to lure players down the leagues too with substantial amounts of money.

Still too early to identify any patterns but perhaps some trends emerging?
-Exeter and Bolton making strong starts and Stevenage really do seem to have serious intent about them -Oxford started the day top of the table but lost at home to Port Vale although they were reduced to 9 men by the time of the final whistle -And speaking of Port Vale they seem to have put their opening day thrashing behind them and are have now won 4 and drawn 1 of their last 5 -Cheltenham prop everyone up and are yet to score a goal -Oh, and Pish lost after being 1-0 up. Not a bad Saturday for a game-less one

When Wrexham came under League Two rules they had ten forwards. That should have released some onto the market.
Edit 2023 Sept 8th:
Exeter have a nose bleed as this is the highest up the table they have ever been. You have to feel good about that. One way or the other. Early days. Maybe we all get a turn?

Don't think I can see Exeter sustaining their form over a season so personally doubt they'll be in the play-off hunt in the end but Caldwell's done a decent rebuild there and seems to know what he's doing.

I think they'll win today though. Stevenage too.
Last year Stevenage started like an train on fire and then were 'found out' to an extent last season apparently, so I could see the same thing happening this year. Maybe.
Who knows, it's an interesting start with the surprise sides like us, Chavs, vale and Exeter in the top six and the fancied teams in mid-table. Only the bottom is going according to prediction so far.

Well, aside from us not propping everyone up!
This Phil Wallet may have seen an opportunity to spaff some dosh this year and they look good. Wouldn't be shocked if they end up top half, even if they do tail off.
