I wouldn't want us banking a on a win against Vale, considering that has the potential to be a winner takes all relegation match. We really have to beat Northampton at home in a couple of weeks, otherwise I can see our season really starting to unravel from there Stranger things have happened (we should know, of course) but I'm not sure how realistic it is that they'll outscore us by 7 points over their remaining 14 games with a run of fixtures that is very similar but I'd argue slightly tougher than ours.

Tuesday will be interesting as Vale are home to Fleetwood and Burton home to Carlisle. You would expect both to win those. Charlton have to go to Derby however and Cheltenham to Wycombe. If we could take a point from the chavs it could be very useful.

Have to take it deep on Tuesday. Stay in the game and frustrate them and hope to pinch a late winner. Stevenage are on an iffy run right now. Thrown away leads, conceded late goals etc so they won’t be full of confidence. I’m optimistic we can get something, but we need the right line up/set up to do it.
If anyone can bring themselves to listen to Evans post match interview from yesterday, he mentions us around the 4.20 mark. For some reason he had a phone convo with “Chopper” Harris.

The other league one fixtures on Tuesday and Saturday have fallen quite kindly for us. Teams around us playing one another, or with very tough games, nobody is going to be suddenly hunting us down without causing another club to remain stationary. A point at the Chavs would be very handy in maintaining the status quo. May Port Vale feel free to continue their awful run for another couple of weeks and I think we won’t feel quite so nervous.

We lost narrowly at the weekend without main strikers available or a Manager. If we got smashed I would have been worried.
I think Barry, Kevin and the lads showed there is still fight and with a good appointment we have a lot to be optimistic about after this tough patch of games.

I love these ‘fans’ predictions to avoid the drop! Blinkered unrealistic expectations/optimism! I’d rather be down by Vale (rather than a FGR heart stopper). One result I can predict- Reading 2 ‘U’s 0 (Smith/Knibbs)

Does that also mean you'd rather we'd been relegated before Forest Green.
Someone make it make sense.

I'd have to impersonate a two pence piece with a matchstick in a red phone box to feel young again. There is a small chance that one of Smith and Knibbs will score (Smith). One in four?

I'm optimistic. Some smoke and mirrors ahead of the game could turn into magic on the pitch.
