Funny how back in nov or so a lot of fans didn’t rate Gas, think he is our best striker the way he holds the ball up. Love to keep him next season. In some ways that injury may have helped keep him off others radar.
Again, many were saying Andrew and RB should never play again. Only saw some on ifollow but both were excellent.
I do think mannion has never really let us down but I a still feel an early season Stevens is the better keeper but not much in it.

They don't protest because Barnsley take the quick free kick - its professionalism not an admission of guilt. There was a lot of complaining the next time the ball went out. And at half-time. Brophy, Corr and a couple of others were in deep conversation with the ref as he was walking off, and they didn't look like they were asking about his wellbeing!

Ahadme leads the line so well. No coincidence that our form dropped off a little when he picked up his injury. He can have a big part to play from the start of games and then Fej can hopefully give us something from the bench that Bonne hasn’t been.
Bennett and Morrison should not play as a pairing again. They both play better when having a younger “pupil” alongside them. They seem to enjoy the responsibility and it suits the team better.
Andrew has had a very good season. More good games than bad, that’s all you can ask.
I like the calmness that Mannion brings. Makes such a difference to the team as a whole when you have a GK that is confident in his own ability. Stevens is probably the better all round keeper, but is very fragile confidence wise. It’s holding him back and is an issue that he must solve if he wants to be a league keeper.

Gas looked a much better player under Harris than MB, not a clue why. Would like to keep him, but should we be concerned about a fractured foot at Ipswich, and a worse fracture here? I don't know. Signing Stevens was a poor decision imo, early season form was v good, then things have gone just like we were warned they might, by port vale and Oxford fans, luckily Mannion is decent enough, not sure about him as a nailed on first choice though.

Think Stevens definitely has a place and I'm fine with him being here next season, but him and Mannion could definitely be rotated better. Agreed that I don't think either is good enough to be first choice and can see them both getting 20-25 games next season if Mannion chooses to stay, rather than one being first choice with the other as cover. Wouldn't be surprised if Mannion leaves though, I can see him being first choice for a club in League 2. That's really the only reason I'd want to see us bring in a new keeper as while its somewhere we definitely can improve, I don't think it's the most urgent area to do so in and would rather we spent elsewhere.

I thought Mannion’s handling and general presence were superb yesterday. He was calm and assured and did everything he needed to do really well. He shanked a couple of kicks but at least he got good distance on them and got us up the pitch.
Also, what a fantastic debut for Jobe-the kid was an absolute rock at the back. More of him please. Gassan was brilliant when he came on and Brophy’s pressing and energy were great too.
Maybe a bit unfair to highlight individual players when the whole team played really well and were organised, resilient and determined. Still smiling almost 24 hours later.

Taylor celebrating de Gevigneys own goal is worth a rewatch of the highlights.
He's a complete and utter t*sser, isn't he? Haha.

Monk's fist pump. Classy, dignified. The kind of fist you want representing this club.

What hasn't Mannion done to convince you he's league 1 quality? He's done so much right whenever he's started for us. He hardly ever puts in a bad performance and believe he more than deserves to be someone's first choice keeper. Can't see what he's lacking to be a league 1 keeper for us.

I'm happy that Monk is happy try pretty radical changes. Bonner became incredibly conservative and one dimensional in his line ups and formations. Harris largely copied it, albeit with better returns.
Recalling Jobe and starting him straight away was a big call. Had Jobe struggled it would have reflected badly on Monk. But from all accounts he smashed it.
And playing Bennett on the wing is a big call too, even though many of us have been calling for it all season. Maybe too early to say if it's the right decision but in my mind it's a win win.
Beating Barnsley 2-0 away from home is our most impressive away result for two seasons (Wigan away) and possibly our most impressive league 1 win altogether since then (yes, beating Posh 2-0 last season was superb, but 'form goes out the window for derbies' and all that).
If Monk can get us delivering results like this from now on, then maybe I can revise the Lincoln and Reading results. Lincoln did also decimate Barnsley and Bristol Rovers, so maybe we just caught them at the worst possible time. And I've heard it from more one than person that the Reading game didn't feel like a 4-0 in the sense that everything went in for them that day rather than they absolutely battered us.
I would be interested to see whether Taylor and Ahadme could work together. Taylor isn't a natural target man, he's better running off of a target man, so it could work. That said, I wouldn't be disappointed if I never say him start for us again.

The Bennett call was also interesting. As you say, early days but at least he's prepared to mix things up. And yes, we rode our luck lots yesterday but we deserved a 0-2 victory against a team in the play offs. I really can't make my mind up about Taylor. But I think I'm starting to about Monk. And it's good.

Bennett played wingback rather than wing, but yeah I thought he looked ok. Was a bit exposed in the first half but did well enough despite that. We tightened that side up in the second and he did much better.
Didn't really get involved too much in our attacks but did his defensive job well I'd say.
