He's got the talent, that's not in question, and when he's on his game he's pretty much unstoppable. It's when it's not going so well that's his downfall, he seems to struggle to get back into any rhythym

The 0/9 stat for grand slam final sets tells it's own story. He's too concerned with losing in finals, meaning he plays defensively and waits to counter. It's a tactic that works pretty well when he uses it against lesser players but by virtue of the fact that more often than not (and every time in Murray's case) your opponent in a grand slam final is going to be one of if not the best player in the world means you can't let them play their game. It's just asking for trouble. If he loosens up, plays more aggressively and cuts out the fear then he might do it. Until then he hasn't got a chance, unless whoever he's playing has a real stinker or a Richie Tenenbaum style breakdown

As with many sportsmen, he has bags of talent, but the last 5% that separates the good from the great is in the mind. Psychologically I'm not sure he has it within him to rise to the occasion when it really matters against the Nadal's, Djokovic's or Federer's in Grand Slam matches.
I guess we will find out tomorrow how far he has come in that regard, I predict Nadal in 4 sets.

I like him and agree with soulhalshall that nationality doesn't come into the fact that I enjoy watching him play. I think he can win but sadly don't see him beating Nadal tomorrow. I certainly support him and get fairly annoyed at those who dislike him for his "banter" / being Scottish.

I'm deeply offended. So much so that I nearly choked on my deep fried mars bar!

I love tennis, but sadly, hate Murray. Scottishness aside, (which I can put up with) I just feel he's immature, lacking class and will never break into the Feds/Nadal/Novak club.
I'm supporting Rafa today, top sportsman, and just fantastic to watch. So, Rafa/Tsonga final on Sunday, and Rafa in four sets.

Unfortunately, the Scot lost today. Was hoping for a British victory.

Actually today was all my fault. He was doing pretty good when I tuned in around an hour in, I'd literally sat down and he fluffed that chance to have a stab at two break points in the second set. he was utter cack for the rest of the match from that point! So blame me!
I like Murray, he's got class but not as much as the three above him in the rankings sadly.

Shame, he was superb for a set and a bit but after that Nadal was in total control and Murray started making far too many mistakes.
Ah well. At least we've got Liam Broady, eh? heh.

Murray was, as usual in a slam, totally outclassed by a half-fit Rafa who played well within himself. After all, he didn't need to work all that hard...........
Liam is on the other hand, an exciting prospect!

Olympic champion and, more importantly, grand slam winner. He definitely is now in the same group as Djokovic, Federer and Nadal. He can compete with them no problem. He will definitely win more slams. I'd make him about even money to win Wimbledon at some stage.
