Returned to Succession having been convinced by a friend that I really ought to - so glad I did. It’s now a contender for my all-time top five.

Bit late to the party I know but I’ve been binge watching Hinterland on Netflix, really dark and atmospheric, terrific locations and great story lines A man after my own heart. Try Hidden as well. In a similar vein but even darker all round!

I've just finished watching Masters of the Universe on Netflix. It's a direct sequel to the 80's cartoons I watched as a kid rather than a re-boot and it's absolutely amazing.
Not sure it has a huge target audience though? Feels like you need a lot of knowledge of the MOTU lore to get the most from it, even a casual fan might get a little stuck and anyone watching it new might not stick with it at all(?)
Frankly though I don't care. It was made for me and I f*cking loved it.

Has anyone watched the Macclesfield FC documentary? I thought it was pretty good, well worth a watch whether you like Robbie Savage or not. Interesting that their playing budget was going to be £150k with players on £250-350 per week even at that level.

Made me smile when he appeared on Breakfast TV this week with the Chairman, promoting the programme and the club. When the presenter said that the programme was a good insight into his own input to the club, he said that it was all about the Chairman! As if the BBC would have been interested in a Fly on the Wall without Savage's involvement. Just like Salford!

Haven't watched anything in ages but am now sitting down the whole time with my newborn. So have watched The Paper (Novine), a Croatian series about journalists and politicians which was good watching. And Lupin, also on Netflix, the French series which was also enjoyable.

I watched Annette a couple of days ago. It stars Adam Driver so it's quite mainstream. However, it's a very strange film and I still don't know if I enjoyed it or not, but I guess that's what good art does to you.
All the music was written by the Sparks who I thought would be around 100 by now, but it seems they are just in their 70's and still going strong.

Not seen it, but Edgar Wright did a film about the Sparks Brothers recently if they're your thing.
It got good reviews (and Edgar Wright is generally quite brilliant so that doesn't surprise me)

I've been enjoying both House of the Dragon and The Rings of Power.
Zero investment in the source material so I've got no hang-ups regarding any changes to lore.

HOTD is incredible and it's back to prime GOT, I thought it would be awful and it's been great. On the other hand Rings of Power is such a let down, I love all things LOTR and it just feels like they've spent all the money on making it look nice. It's lacking something and i'm not sure what it is but it just feels very drab and boring, there was a game series called war/shadow of Mordor and it tells a very similar story to this one and it's so much better in execution. I'm not so fussed with the lore of it all but it's twists are all a bit predictable and boring so they're not even changing the lore in an exciting way

Can't deny a big part of the appeal of LOTR has been the spectacle - it does look stunning, right down to the mall details. I'm all-in on the Elrond/Durin bromance and the harfoot stuff is okay. The main plot with Galadriel has had its issues, but overall I'm invested in it. I'm yet to see the finale but have heard good things.
HOTD has certainly told a more compelling and gritty story. I'm losing track of who is who at times, and which family they belong to, but I don't think that's a fault of the show - just my failing memory.
Watching both of those got me in the mood to rewatch The Witcher and that is even better on second viewing. It helps that time I'm aware the whole of the first season is split across multiple timelines, a fact completely lost on me first time around.
