I just watched Cracker, the Hillsborough revenge ones, because Robbie Coltrane was excellent in them.
Imagine my delight when Dion Dublin got a mention in the first episode - Christopher Ecclestone talking to a racist Manchester United fan "Ince, he's black. Parker, he's black. Dublin, he's black...you bloody idiot"

Been waiting ages for The Last Of Us to start, and it didn't disappoint. A superb start to the series. Some parts could be lifted straight from the game and they've captured the feel perfectly with the bits they've changed/expanded on. Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal have wiped the floor with any doubters about their casting. Excited for the rest of it.

Enjoyed Last of us, I know nothing about the game but maybe that's a good thing. I have never been disappointed by anything Pedro Pascal has been in. We have just started the next series of Hunters, it's been a while since the first series. We have also only just discovered Detectorists and binge watched it, very entertaining.

I was just reading about this today. I know nothing about the game (or games) and won't watch the series but I couldn't believe the actor from The Worst Witch is the lead.

To continue fanboying about The Last Of Us, the third episode is one of the most beautifully made pieces of TV I've seen. I won't go into too much detail but it was awkward, funny, heartbreaking, natural. The biggest diversion from the game so far, but not a single complaint from me.

An hour long version of the opening scene from Up. Nick Offerman being cast as a reclusive hermit is absolutely spot on

I haven't played the game so know nothing about that side of it, but what a curveball that was. Completely not what I was expecting, but was brilliantly done and really moving. If the rest of the series lives up to the first 3 episodes it'll be one of my favourites.

I’ve now watched the finale of season one of The Last of Us - what a masterpiece. The way it earns its big moments, and the little ones for that matter, is just incredible. The choices Joel makes in the final episode are simultaneously selfish and selfless - it’s brilliant writing, brilliant acting and brilliant drama. We want more!

Agreed it’s been an amazing show and gutted there’s no more episodes. Season 2 has been confirmed but it’s probably going to be late next year or early 2025 before it’s on again.

And very faithful to the video game's plot - I think a lot of people write games off, but you are faced with the same decision, same conversation to end the first game as the one that ends the first series of the show. That earlier scene watching the wildlife from the top of the building is in there, almost exact, moment for moment. And it's no less moving.

I'm not buying into the hype of the last of us. I've seen all the episodes and it's watchable enough, it's well written and well acted but I just find it a tiny bit dull. I had the same issue with the game so it's not overly surprising but I think it's possibly more that Zombie's are a bit tiresome these days
After 900 seasons of the Walking Dead the whole "humans are the real enemy" is a tiresome trope. Again it's well acted, well written and well done i'm just not buying into it as the best show on telly kind of hype

The journey arc of the characters from start to finish is brilliant. Joel's final decision with Ellie, was it to save her or because mankind isn't worth saving, or both? Either way, there is no way he is letting another daughter die. I think it has so many more layers than the standard zombie show. It felt me with so much dread watching even though I knew the end. I like how they held the zombie's back as well compared to walking dead.
I've loved every second as much as I loved playing the game. I haven't played the second game as I just can't see how it can top the first. Might have to give it a go now.
