I love Breaking bad. Probably my favourite drama by some distance. The only problem is the wait for a conclusion after the way season 5 part 1 ended, especially given the flashback scene right at the start of the season.

I'm balancing a few things and have moved on well from my post at the start of this thread. Ive now finished The Wire and The Sopranos, am 4 seasons into Dexter and am currently midway through Entourage S3 and a few episodes into S2 of Game of Thrones.
I'm really enjoying Game of Thrones, the author of the book has created an amazing Tolkein / C.S.Lewis-esque world. I haven't tried the books but the TV series is excellent.
At the weekend I bought S1 of The West Wing and S1 of both Boardwalk Empire and Mad Men will be going on my Christmas list so I've plenty to keep me going.
I'm about to watch the first episode of Hunted in iPlayer, which I've heard only good things about. The main actress was in The Slap, which nobody in England's heard of apparently, but was an Australian series I picked up cheaply in Asda and would recommend.

The Slap is an excellent book and the tv adaption was inexplicably hidden away on bbc4 hence it passing many people by.
Highly recommend it

'I enjoyed watching Game of Thrones but the books are so much better, you may need a few months to get through all 5 tho'
I'm currently up to half way through the 3rd book, very good.

Did anyone ever watch Lie to me? the show with Tim Roth as the lead. Used to be on Sky 1 , it's about a group that can read faces and body language to help get to the the truth and help solve crimes etc. Very good tv imo. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lie_to_Me

Plane Crash on Channel 4 was really interesting. Crashing a Boeing 727 by remote control just to see what happens. Never sit in seat 7a!

Watched the first episode of Game of Thrones on the 'on demand' option on Sky t'other day. Big mistake. I want to watch them all now. Luckily I've found somewhere to watch them online.
I want to see Breaking Bad as well. Anyone seen it?
Boardwalk Empire continues to be absolutely brilliant viewing.
Homeland is losing its way a bit. I'm not sure a third season is such a good idea.

Breaking Bad is utterly, utterly superb. Better than Boardwalk Empire in my opinion but there's not an awful lot in it.
Game of Thrones is also awesome.

Only just realised I'd already asked about Breaking Bad!
Better than Boardwalk Empire? I find that hard to believe but recommendations don't come much higher than that.

I've finally pulled my finger out and started watching Breaking Bad.
Season one was certainly a bit slow, but I was encouraged to stay with it and was hooked by mid-season two. I'm now burning through season three at (typically) a couple of episodes per-night. Strongly recommended.
I've been enjoying Boardwalk Empire too. The second season really lost it's way, IMO - season three has been fan-bloody-rific though. Several points where I realise I'm sat there grinning like a loon.
Overall I probably prefer Boardwalk over Breaking Bad, but we'll see if that holds up...
Someone mentioned American Horror Story a while back. I enjoyed the first season, but the new series (asylum) bored me quickly. It seems to be more straight-up shock/horror, without the big ol' 'WTF?!' element of the first series.

There's not a lot on offer at the moment from the main channels. I suppose they are holding on to the good stuff for Xmas.
The only thing I can't miss ATM is the new series of Peep Show. On straight after Homeland plus all 7 series are available on 4OD as well.
I've recently discovered How I met your mother which I find quite good. Better than Friends although no doubt matched to it a lot.
Did anyone watch the docs on BBC 4 about the history of the music charts? Excellent for a child of the 80's/90' like myself.

I have been watching the spooky goings on in "Paranormal Witness" on Reality TV on thursday nights, reapeated sunday. ( Channel 17 freeview ) It's rather well made. This week a man was abducted by alledged Aliens and had all kinds of probes inserted into his being I prefer the ghostly stories in the series. ;D

I've been watching the second series of American Horror Story. I like it. It's starting to feel a little bit drawn out, like most American tv shows, but still really good.
Looking forward to which news stories they use for the next series of The Newsroom. Election and Superstorm Sandy are obvious, but Aurora/Newtown shootings? I dunno, maybe too raw a subject no matter how sensitively they dress it up. Can't wait to see.

I bought my missus Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip for Christmas, another Aaron Sorkin show that came out just after The West Wing. We're about 7 of 22 episodes in and it's excellent. Already thinking it's a shame it only lasted one series.

Really enjoying Breaking Bad. Got the first three seasons on DVD. Watched two series of Game of Thrones on this website: moonlightmedia.tvIt's got quite a few well-known programmes on it. I might give The Walking Dead a go.
