So apparently SimCity is rubbish. That's a shame.
On the flip side, Tomb Raider is supposed to be excellent.

Sim City is actually pretty good but it's the mountain of problems the game has that's rubbish.
-The 'aways on' connection to the Internet needed to play. -Game servers being constantly down so people who bought the game can't actually play it. -Small city boundaries, forcing you to make lots of smaller cities instead allowing you to make one big city.
I could go on and on about this all day but it's really been done to death the last week or so, no way I'm going to pay EA my money for a game that is supported by this business model.
Just a piece of advice, if anyone likes Sim city esque games and wants a more modern type Sim city game, give Tropico 4 a look, that's a very decent and fun gaming experience.
Oh yes and I agree, Tomb Raider is very good indeed :-)

Tomb Raider is brilliant it's a mixture of Far cry ( a great game) and assassins creed (another great game) to make one brilliant game

Anybody buy bioshock infinite ? Very good game bit of an odd game open world but you have to follow a specific path, very playable just completed it and may have to go through it again just to understand the ending

Just remembered that I picked up a pristine copy of Assassins Creed 2 for the PS3 from EBay - £4.62 delivered FTW!
I played the first one and found it a little fussy. Wanted a cheap game and looked up the reviews for this.
It's great, man.

Massive gamer here, at least in the PC gaming sense. Anyone on Steam here? The gaming client and not the water vapour.
My favourites right now:
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare Payday: The Heist Starcraft 2 (All time favourite) Killing Floor Red Orchestra 1/2 Dota 2

Agreed, Total War games are timeless. There's a new Age of Empires II Re-release out in HD on Steam now with great online play!

Another steam user here.
Really enjoyed bioshock infinite for the story and the amazing world that is contained within, rather than the very generic and uninspiring gameplay however.
I very much like dota 2 although I'm not very good at it. And that is one hard game to be good at!
Recently bought don't starve which I'm hoping to play this week at some point.
I really like starcraft 2 as well, I get just as much enjoyment from watching the online casts of pro tournaments as I do from playing it myself. Very entertaining game!

I'm the same, would much prefer to watch a decent cast/stream than actually play! What's your Steam ID? Could perhaps mess around some time.

Has anyone tried the Warframe open beta?
Very fun, considering I hate most shooters. Seems a little on the easy side, but I've only just started and expect the difficulty to ramp up.

Just seen that the new Xbox will have a fee to pay on top of the game if it's second hand. Be interesting to see how that works out...
Otherwise it looks fairly decent. Ho hum.

Everyone seems to be over the top angry at the lack of games shown during the launch event. It's a games console, I know there are going to be games, I can wait to see them. I am much more interested in the innovation so I have been more impressed by the One than the PS4 thus far. Price will be a huge decider.

It does seem interesting, but it sounds like it's trying to incorporate all the negative aspects of Apple products! Besides, I've only just got Xbox live, I'll probably get this console in 2016 or something like that.
If the PS4 is a raw gaming machine it may win something back, E3 will be very telling about that really.

I thought it was very underwhelming to be honest. I can (sort of) understand where they are coming from with the second hand games thing however.
As for the console itself.. Well is it actually a games console? They spoke for about 20-30 mins about the new Xbox before they even mentioned games.
Seems they are trying to provide a product that does everything. Games, movies, tv etc. but my thoughts were, Why would I but a product that allows me to watch tv on a tv? I have a pc/phone (or some people have a smart tv) that does Skype, Facebook and all those other features its boasting. I have a ps3 and sky subscription/pc that I can get Netflix etc. I'm not doubting that it may do what it does very well but gamers are the ones who queue round the block for new consoles and I have to wonder if they are the ones who are the target audience here.
Time will tell however and I'm certainly looking forward to new hardware coming out, we've been stuck in the current console generation for far too long now.
