I'm looking for a database for this season that works for CM 01-02 now. Said game is a free download now and a great nostalgia hit. www.champman0102.co.uk is a site dedicated to exactly this and as it happens have just released an Autumn 2013 database update.

Had GTA V for my birthday yesterday . Haven't played it much yet but I'm already falling in to the trap of just beating to death as many people as I can before the police take me down. It may take me a while to complete...

I know there have been various problems with GTA online, but in recent days i can't even get onto the normal GTA story mode. It keeps saying it's loading but never gets past that page. Anyone got any suggestions? (other than just taking it to a shop)

I keep reading: 'Phone/tablet games are going to take over from the traditional console'
Am I the only one who finds any of the games converted from consoles to the small screen (Asassins Creed, Need for Speed etc.) total shite? It's OK for getting a whimsical blob to traverse a cavern via tactically placed trampolines, or similair bollocks, but for REAL games, they are terrible. It's clear that mobile games are massive money these days, but a replacement for a console? I'm not certain.

Yup, and every year for well over a decade, consoles were supposed to have killed the PC.
Different devices are just better for different types of games. It's like saying "SUV's will kill estate cars this year" or "there will never be another petrol-powered supermini."
It's just a whole different ball game. No one in their right mind would actually compare a console and a smartphone, and no one should compare their games, either. I mean, Candy Crush, Call of Duty, Football Manager. Three very different games. Three very different platforms.

SteamOS is actually about to bring gaming straight back to Consoles and PCs.
Tablets won't be taking over the gaming market anytime soon tbh. I'd much rather use my big, loud, PC than a silent, smaller, tablet.

In terms of console (PS3) games, I haven't bought any lately (since BF3/GTA I think..) but have heard the new COD is very much worth avoiding, with BF4 being the one to go for if you want a shooter!

So who has got a next generation gaming console
I've got an xbox one, sadly my tv has nowhere near a good enough display for me to notice significant differences in the graphics, so my next pay check shall be going on a nice new tv's (any good 32-39inch tv's for gaming would be nice if someone knew any?)
anybody planning on getting one?

I'm probably going to go for a PS4 - but not for a good while yet, perhaps even wait until next Christmas.
By then the price may have dropped a little. Plus I have three of four games I want to buy and play through on the PS3 first. I also understand that, at present, you cannot play films from a USB stick on the PS4 - or indeed transfer and watch them from the systems HDD. This is also putting me off at the moment, as my family uses the PS3 alot for this.

Due to it being that time of year where games actually come out I thought i'd give this a little reemergence
Fifa 15 - donaldson is god Shadow of mordor - Excellent game takes the best parts of assasins creed gives it a lord of the rings make over and then add's on so much more paid £35 for it on the xbox one and it's fantastic the game engine really is next gen
Destiny - Good game, awful servers haven't really played it that much

I rarely play on my Xbox 360 now, but did buy and have been slowly making progress with Rise of the Tomb Raider, which is excellent.
I'd like a more immersive, atmospheric, story-driven game. Anyone know of any?
