Ah, wankers. I thought German football was supposed to be above this sort of thing.

It got slightly less coverage, for some reason, but Merthyr Town recently announced a sponsorship deal with an arms company too. At any time it'd be a bad PR move, but especially in the current climate it's so idiotic. Regardless of personal opinions, it just causes resentment and division. It's akin to the Saudi sportswashing being allowed to take hold.

I'm a bit of a Page apologist, but he's making it hard to defend him at times with his selections. Especially for a friendly against a rock because he failed to get us out of a fairly simply qualifying group. It’s a bit odd. It’s not just Mullin but Harris (top scorer at Oxford) too. But he picks Koumas of Liverpool who has a couple of first team appearances to his name. I don't mind Koumas being picked, it's what these games are about. But at the same time he should also be picking others to come in to stake a claim. We've got such a small pool of players to choose from that when there are players scoring goals, albeit at a lower level, then we should at least be giving them a go to see what they can do.

It's one thing looking for ringers at the top level, but once you're looking for ringers in League Two it's probably a bit less pressing.
Ah well, as a blithering idiot once said, are you all looking forward to the football?

It's akin to the Saudi sportswashing being allowed to take hold. We had a very dodgy sponsorship that largely went under the radar a few years ago. Mundipharma who sponsored the main stand were owned by the Sackler family, who were largely responsible for the opioid crisis in the US. In terms of deaths caused they’re probably worse than all the arms companies put together. I’d highly recommend watching Dopesick on iPlayer for anyone not aware of what the Sacklers got up to.
