Ha ha...."The Aldershot players seem to be over-reacting to that challenge from Liam Daish".
He tried to chop the fella in half.

Remember it well. Still think the Michael Cook goal was one of the finest United goals I have seen. Went on the pitch at the final whistle, John Beck and Graham Scarff took my Brother and me down the tunnel and into the changing room for a beer.

The World was very blurry in those days, the shorts were short not and many United fans could afford shirts.

A cracking day on the sauce that was! Claridge's dive looks more outrageous every time I see it.

The World was very blurry in those days, the shorts were short not and many United fans could afford shirts. I sensibly prepared with a week in Cyprus prior to the Colchester match, so was only marginally pasty for the proceedings.

That game remains the only time that I have ever had a tree (not part of a tree but the whole thing) thrown at me, by some knuckle headed squadie who picked up the first thing that came to hand to propel in the direction of the Us fans celebrating

Now that Aldershot match will live long in the memory - great to see how skinny I used to be

Yep. Didn't you access the away end by walking under the rickety main stand?

That was probably one of the best ever away trips. Sat 5th May 1990, I remember it well. What a day.

Back to O'Neil.
I have just listened to his interview.
The reason why Chesterfield fans are slagging him off is probably because he was being played out of position .
He said he was being played at right back of which he was unhappy with.
