Feeling bullish? I am prepared for disappointment, because it always happens. However, if Root and Woakes can bat for an hour, Ali and Bairstow support the skipper while he makes a "daddy ton", we could do it. I wouldn't like to get up at 6 and see Broad or Anderson at the crease (or to see highlights of a disappointing last day's play being shown!)

Not even annoyed that we lost, given it was always unlikely and it was a great effort by the bowlers to even give us a sniff. Very annoyed however that it does look to have been something of a surrender given we ended up all out before the end of the first session. I dunno, perhaps I’ll watch the highlights later and decide the bowling was of such high quality that nothing could be done.

I've checked in to the Priory. I'm clinging on to one thing from that test match and that is the amazing venue which is the Adelaide Oval. Surely the best in the world now?

More great news of player indiscipline coming out of Perth this morning, why oh why can't our well paid professional sportsmen just realise what is good and what is bad behaviour when alcohol is involved?
Moving on to today's match against an Australia XI, a supposed "Warm up" match before the next match. What is the point of it? The team is mostly the Lions team, with just 4 fringe members of the test squad and Moeen Ali playing as a batsman. Seriously, what is the point? Most have no chance of playing in the next test, whatever they do in this game, it is a pointless exercise.

After the incident in Perth I reckon coach Trevor Bayliss said Oh Ducket or something like that.

Just saw Michael Vaughan on the news absolutely slamming the "Student Mentality" of the current squad. Is this the same man who was captain when Flintoff and Pietersen were drunk as skunks celebrating the 2005 Ashes triumph? Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

These are just boyish pranks played by boys, not even worth a mention. If they can trump David Gowers 'Tiger Moth' escapade, then it may be worth a mention.

Old Vaughan likes to play the mood tune of the moment, doesn’t he?
Good first hour for England. Always a ‘but’ of course and poor ‘Chef’ looks well and truly cooked.
I always think of the WACA as being the test venue equivalent of Kenilworth Road. Absolutely love it!
