Not defending the lack of an article, but it is down to the manager or secretary of the Ladies team to provide an update. I wouldn't expect our PR man to cover every match that is played by a team in the amber and black kit. The same applies for the junior section - very little goes on the club website about them, aside from high-profile European tours such as the one mentioned recently. The PR guy should be all over every game played in the clubs name, no matter what age, gender or level, it’s what he’s paid to do? Whereas his method seems to be tweet, delete tweet, correct tweet, tweet again. Is he new or something this year?

Requesting articles from the teams maybe, but I certainly wouldn't expect him to go to every match and make up his own material. Produce it for him, send it in, he should update the website.

The club created a new position in their comms team in September last year and hired someone to solely cover the women’s team and the foundation. Thus I was expecting an uptick in amount and quality of content for both, but in reality the change has been barely noticeable.
Full transparency, I applied and interviewed for the position so have been keeping an eye on things. Was excited for change even though I didn’t get the job as I’m a fan of the women’s team and a big supporter of the foundation. I’m hoping things will continue to improve (and more in line with what I understood they were hoping to achieve with this hiring), just seems to be taking a while seeing as they now have a full time member of staff committed solely to the task.

Well I was unaware of that and it seems like a step in the right direction, however, as you say "seems to be taking a while...". Surely quite easy for the new comms person to read the Tweets from the Women`s manager over a cup of coffee First thing on a Monday Morning and if anything seems newsworthy (and this certainly was on the injury front for the poor girl) then surely a couple of clicks and it would be on our Website in no time. We`ve made so many good strides in recent years with the Women`s Team, Me Too Highlighted, Amber Belles and Emma`s programme articles plus so many more Ladies / Girls attending 1st Team games as well, so they should get the "Web time" they deserve ! Oh, sorry to hear that you didn`t get the job too !

Oh, sorry to hear that you didn`t get the job too ! Yeah, it seemed a really positive and fairly significant step to be taking, so the fact it hasn’t translated to much more in depth and accessible women’s team content feels like a missed opportunity. Especially as we’ve been having such an interesting/improved season. The first step I would have taken in the role is to make finding basic info about the team/players and results/league table easy to find in as few clicks as possible and to keep it updated regularly. The sad reality is that only people already interested will work to hunt these things down and you’re not going to grow interest easily without people being able to understand where our team is at in the wider context of a season/league set up. The periodical UTAS coverage has been great for this and the club should be trying to capitalise on that. And attendance at all women’s games (home and away) was a requirement of the job, so whoever got the role should be on the ground to report on any major happenings/injuries etc.

Got to admit, I know next to nothing about our women's team, couldn't name a single player or which league we play in. That's probably because I am not local and get nearly all of my CUFC information from this site. Where would I go to find out more?

I for one would love a one stop shop for getting the women's team results, fixtures, match reports etc and also for the youth team.
I know there are Twitter feeds (sorry 'X') for both of these groups but they are short on detail plus I don't do social media in general. A dedicated area on the website would be fantastic or failing that give them more coverage in the programme like they used to donkeys years ago.
There always used to be match reports, fixture lists etc for the youth team in the programme so would love this to be brought back along with the same for the women's team. It would be preferable though to have them on the website.

It could be better though, with regular news articles (such as the injury last week) and match reports. www.cambridgeunited.com/Teams/womens-team/

New players signed, injury news, regular match reports etc.

To be fair, that fixtures/results page is fairly new, but it is very lacking in details. For instance, it says this past Sunday’s game was 0-0, but says nothing about it being abandoned mid game due to an injury! It doesn’t even have goal scorers on results listings. And the player page is not regularly updated. A little more care and consistency would be a great start, hopefully moving towards content that gets people interested in the characters/stories of the team/season.

As much as I dislike those down the road, one thing they are excellent at is the relationship with, coverage & integration of the ladies team.
We are getting there, albeit very slowly.

I think this is all very valid and relevant comment - perhaps one of the things we should be pushing forward to the CUSP committee (they have a Ladies rep on that committee I believe?), to follow up on. There is clearly an interest, which should be encouraged.

I believe they are broadly across both but again I’m not sure mate.
