As much as I dislike those down the road, one thing they are excellent at is the relationship with, coverage & integration of the ladies team. We are getting there, albeit very slowly. Their women's team seems to attract wrongens on social media sadly.

I hope when we do give the womens team more airtime we find some way to shield them from or support them in the face of that madness should it arise.

I was really impressed by the Welcome To Wrexham episodes on the women's team and the extent to which they've been integrated into the wider club, taking part in the end of season victory parade, getting lots of fans of the men's team to attend their big promotion-decider etc.
It's odd that CUFC does so little to enable that.
Like others, I have practically no idea about our women's team or what level they play or or even where they play. St Neots? In principle I'd like to take my daughter, but - in the nicest possible way - if it's akin to Sunday league games with a handful of people and a dog standing in a park, that might actually put her off.

United are in the fourth tier of ladies football mate. There’s the Prem, the Championship then the Regionals - Ladies are in Eastern Region D1 South East with City and Norwich. Posh are same level but Midlands. They play in actual stadiums but generally speaking it’s local non-league grounds although several clubs play at the ground of the mens team regularly and most teams do it a few times a season. Attendances can be anything from 80 odd to a couple of hundred but are steadily rising. The man and dog stuff is the County leagues that feed into the regionals. I haven’t watched a ladies game since covid but it’s pretty friendly and good natured.

Have occasionally bumped into a couple a the girls before the game in the Tesco`s Express near the ground, they are very nice and friendly and just love playing football, which it`s what it`s all about really. Hope we can encourage more people to go in the future, it`s good fun and you can still have a little moan at the Ref .......but never on the scale of the First Team, cos it`s just not like that ! Just Competitive and Fair !

Thanks. I'll give it a go if my daughter can be persuaded.

I've takem my daughter and my son to the games at the Abbey. They're really entertaining, loads of goals and chances galore. From what I'm seeing coaching at junior levels the technical levels in the womens game will really start to feed over into the adults in the next few years. The standards from the younger age groups is really impressive.

Free tickets/admission to St.Neots Town stadium for the Semi-final of the FA WFL plate. Cambridge United Women will be playing for a place in the final (what?!) kicking off at 2pm on Sunday. An easy bus journey if you like to keep Sunday special with a cheeky pint. I know we have a lot of fixtures right now, but this is a big one and the tickets are free.

Girls 1-0 up in first 5 mins here at St Neots with Rachel Kosky getting the goal.... probably around 300ish here !

Yay, girls ran out winning 3-2 with great finishes in the Second half by Bella Simmons and substitute Ruth Fox with a crowd over 400 in the end.
Apparently Derby in the final who beat Exeter !

I’ve just come back from the game, Cambridge played really well in the second half. Cobb made all the difference. I took the U12 girls team with me who I manage and they all found it pretty inspiring which is what it is all about. On to the final!!!

A bit disappointing the final is to be played at Broardhurst Park, Manchester.
Makes no sense for either team, it’s not as if there’s no venues between Derby and Cambridge which could accommodate the match.
I was thinking about attending my first Cambridge Womens match if it was somewhere between Derby and Cambridge. Leicester , Notts County or Northampton would have been ideal with my daughter at Leicester University, but not Manchester.

Ugh.... that's completely senseless, I saw some of the squad before the Northampton game and they believed it was going to be a venue in the Midlands.....I really think us and Derby should make an official complaint as it's just madness to have it so far away !!
