Unsurprising after that gutless performance last night - clearly lost the dressing room. They're incredibly large and usually stationary, I would be surprised if he couldn't find it. He was still in the league 2 portacabin when the board have a shiny new league 1 video suite…

After my ban from football initiated by those at the club, I had no appetite to ever be associated with United again
I got sober, I started watching non-league football, I’d ask mates how United was going and that was the extent of it.
Then Mark Bonner happened. The rest is history.
I don’t think you’ll ever be able to measure his impact in any tangible metric given the pandemic & everything that happened, and I honestly believe he’s been a major player in the platform the club has now to build on off the pitch as well as on it.
I think I’ll probably love the man forever but it was time for the manager to go.
I hope when the dust settles that he feels able to come back to support us and in the future we can mark his achievements appropriately.
Thanks for giving me something back that I thought I had lost forever, Mark.

Absolutely gutted by this and probably a good reason why I’m not a chairman as I don’t think I could have parted ways, awful conversation to have.
Clearly something had gone wrong but I’m just really grateful for everything he done for us, the memories will never leave.

Absolutely devestated. Can't really describe it, just gutted.

Though I thought it was time for a change of manager and agree it would happen I am still gutted that it’s come to this. Not gloating that this has happened. I was happy when Derry and Ling left but I’m sad this day has come.
Best of luck to Mark Bonner - Kept us up in League 2, Promotion to League 1, Newcastle cup upset and League One status secured. He leaves a legend of this football club.

Indeed, a mix of sadness, devastation and anger with not a single bit of it consoled by the thought that we've made the right decision.
I'm fuming at a lot of people. Fairly or not. Strang, the pissant milquetoast players and Betsy in particular...though not in that order. Corr is on a knife edge too.
Bah, f*cking football.

Obviously as a "not a proper fan" my position has largely been Bonner in and I didn't really expect this to happen. Not yet, anyway.
He was special and the memories he's given us are truly special as well, hopefully he can enjoy being one of us again and both parties can go from strength to strength from here on.
I've certainly never felt this way about any other manager leaving us, this really hurts even if the rationale is there too.

Oh rubbish.
I did not expect that. I could see the writing on the wall, but didn't think we'd be responding to it just yet.
Mark, seriously, thanks for everything. You have given so much. You will forever be a legend. I'm sure we'll meet again in better places.

I'm hugely grateful to Mark for getting us out of league 2, retaining our league one status and giving us some iconic moments along the way.
His success on the field must've been a huge help in getting the stadium back and plans moving on all the redevelopment; through increased attendances, more TV money and greater publicity.
He was also a massive breath of fresh air in terms of his honesty and humility after bullshitting egotists like Ling and Derry.
I'm thankful also to the Board in making this decision now. It's a big call but allows us to remember Bonner as a club legend and not tarnish his four years of success. I hope he gets a fantastic new job soon.
Getting a new boss in now gives us the best chance of continuing our development with the foundations Bonner put in place. The next appointment is absolutely massive for the club.
I'm feeling sad but positive this morning.
