A recent one is Jack Lankester’s ‘goal’ at Milton Keynes last season, had it stood, would have seen us comfortably win that game and been away from the horrors of the dreaded last day… That’s the one I was going to shout up. It still makes me angry when I think about it now. People bang on about MKD being a fake club etc, but that was their real crime against humanity/football/ Cambridge United/ me😡

Derry is the deepest hill I've dug myself into, but no part of my rational brain ever considered I might be wrong so the best I can offer is when someone said Darling was Conference South level at best.
Although, I do vaguely recall thinking Bridgo was a better footballer than some gave him credit for. I don't know if I'm remembering this right or not but I'm sure there was some NRE abuse and he stuck his finger up in return? Anyway, I thought he was decent and others didn't as I recall.
Oh, and I will maintain that Courtney Pitt was a rubbish show pony until the day I die.
Oh, and there are still fans who oddly worship Terry Fleming whereas I think he's one of the biggest scumbags to have ever played for us and should be among our most hated. One of us is on the wrong hill 🤷♂️

The year we got into the playoffs of what is now The Championship, we had a late winner erroneously disallowed for offside at home against Middlesbrough (might have been Plymouth). The game finished 2-2. If the goal had stood, we'd have gone up automatically and still be in the Premier League.

I maintain that Lionel Pérez was crap, even though everyone else I know thinks he was brilliant. Roy Mac built a cracking team that got us promoted, then it was deemed necessary to replace the whole back line and goalie for the higher division. Probably fair enough, as we were much better at attacking than defending, but we ended up bringing in a load of old timer leeches that bled the club of money and weren’t any better than what we already had…and Perez was one of them, but everyone loved him because he was a “character”

I make you right. Perez WAS crap and expensive.
He also WAS a charismatic chap and I liked him 🤷♂️.
McAnespie (last I heard of him he was still stuck on a roof after the devastation of hurricane Katrina) and John Dreyer were the leeches (His dad was a customer of ours, also called John Dreyer. The temptation to tell him his son was a shithouse was unbearable)

He brought more value than what we saw on the pitch. Roy McFarland also still sings his praises, and that for me carries a lot of weight.

I remember it being reported he was on mega money too which contributed to the financial woes that followed.

Newmarket Road end. Under the lights. One of our players played the ball backwards from the byline. I think Shaggy put it in before the flag went up. I've looked at the results from this season and can't find anything that really corresponds, so, perhaps, I've made the whole thing up.

Histon defectors. I see you in the NRE and I judge you harshly. I hope your joy at our success is forever soured with the knowledge that you didn't just drop out but actively worked against our club.

Luke Berry's betrayal to join Luton. I don't like him, and I don't want him back. He made his bed, now he has to lie in it.
I'm also sure he won't care about any abuse our fan base gives him considering his current position.

Shaggy releasing the mighty Paul Wanless and signing Justin Walker.

Shaggy releasing the mighty Paul Wanless and signing Justin Walker. Wanless being replaced by Walker being abhorrent is far from a controversial take, however I’m fairly certain Wanny wasn’t just released by Shaggy because he wanted rid for some reason, pretty sure Wanny asked to leave and join Oxford.
