Weymouth playing their youth side in 2008/9 after we’d played both fixtures.
This adversely affected our goal difference……. I think Burton lucked out and won 6-0 against them; ultimately making our job too tough to overhaul them on goal difference.

The year we got into the playoffs of what is now The Championship, we had a late winner erroneously disallowed for offside at home against Middlesbrough (might have been Plymouth). The game finished 2-2. If the goal had stood, we'd have gone up automatically and still be in the Premier League. If (well sorry!) that's true then I would have been absolutely incensed and even more devastated at filbert street on that horrible night ! I thought we finished six points off the automatic places. So, thankfully we were never within a disallowed goal of glory.

If I meet anyone named Mike Whitlow I will instantly take a dislike to them because they rugby tackled Trev when through on goal in the cup against Bolton. Would have had 9 toes in the quarter finals.

The stress and anger of that Harrogate away game when we just needed to draw to go up.

Swindon Town cynically took advantage of the fuel strike in Sept 2000 to postpone their game with us which we would have inevitably won as we were absolutely flying in League Division 2 (or League One as it is now). It was the only game in the whole football league calendar which was cancelled. This stopped our momentum, led to a bad run of form and ultimately cost us a chance at promotion. Yes, very well remembered. Apparently Swindon couldn’t get their players to a home game whereas we were prepared to travel half the length of the country to get the game played. Wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that we had beasted Rotherham 6-1 the week before…

Can’t remember the team but Steve Slade scored. We were absolutely flying…

Derry is the deepest hill I've dug myself into, but no part of my rational brain ever considered I might be wrong so the best I can offer is when someone said Darling was Conference South level at best. Although, I do vaguely recall thinking Bridgo was a better footballer than some gave him credit for. I don't know if I'm remembering this right or not but I'm sure there was some NRE abuse and he stuck his finger up in return? Anyway, I thought he was decent and others didn't as I recall. Oh, and I will maintain that Courtney Pitt was a rubbish show pony until the day I die. Oh, and there are still fans who oddly worship Terry Fleming whereas I think he's one of the biggest scumbags to have ever played for us and should be among our most hated. One of us is on the wrong hill 🤷♂️ Andrew Why should Terry Fleming be hated ? Genuine question

That despite keeping us up (which Roy Mac may have done), we should never had brought Beck back This 100000%.

Whoever it was they had a much longer journey than most yet still managed it. EDIT- Exeter played Rochdale. The one I was thinking of was Carlisle travelling to Plymouth.

He and Walker were suspended by the club for taking the piss at training and getting f*cked up the night before a game as I recall. I think Nick remembered the story far better than me last time it came up.

1991/1992 play-offs
Semi-finals Third place Derby County played sixth place Blackburn Rovers (see you in the FA cup) Fouth place Liecester played fifth placers, the mighty Camb'U's.
Cambridge held Leicester to a 1-1 draw at the Abbey Stadium before losing the return leg 5-0 at Filbert Street. Only to limp out of the final, by the one goal of the match, to sixth placed Blackburn.
Liecester shouldn't have had the players available to them that they had. They couldn't afford them. rubbish or bust. They went bust. It was things like this that brought in budgeting rules for clubs.
Denying us the chance (by cheating) to go all the way to the top league (becoming the prem) only to waste the chance? Unforgivable. Yes even now. I will not let it go. Filbert the Fox can go die in a fire.
I don't think we should have had the first fixture at home. As higher in the table Liecester should have got the home advantage of first fixture.
The nature of that 1-1/5-0 (6-1 agg) defeat is for someone else to fume about.
