"Why should Terry Fleming be hated ? Genuine question" He and Walker were suspended by the club for taking the piss at training and getting f*cked up the night before a game as I recall. I think Nick remembered the story far better than me last time it came up. Andrew I had always wondered what the cause of that was. It was hushed up in public as a "breach of discipline" or something similarly vague. The problem with getting f*cked up the night before a game is that it only becomes a funny story for later life when you have the talent of George Best and can still run the game the following day. And neither Fleming or Walker were quite George Best.

George Best didn't have a gold tooth though, so it balances out.

I love Courtney, but I just hope he had a better delivery rate when he was working as a postman. Be fair to Courtney. No winger was ever more adept at unerringly finding the midriff of a fullback than Courtney was against Torquay.

I don't think we should have had the first fixture at home. As higher in the table Liecester should have got the home advantage of first fixture. To be fair second leg at home is to this day given to the highest placed team and is seen as an advantage more generally.

What I loved about Courtney was that possibility that he might just do something amazing. Rose-tinted specs are obviously in play here, but in the dark days of the Conference him getting the ball offered a bit of hope which occasionally came to fruition. He will, I'm sure, always be my favourite. Football is not a rational thing.
Come on Courtney!

His cult hero status was forged really because he was great sometimes and bad others, and was a nice guy that seemed to care about the club & stuck around a fair while at a time when no one really stayed longer than 2 seasons. The Superman pants celebration when he scored that header just cemented it. He's the only thing likeable about Burton Albion.

Around 30 years ago, we should have signed the trialist Efan Elad.
If only....

In similar vein to Lionel Perez..Danny Potter was massively overrated during his time here He was a decent enough keeper for the league. People liked him as a character but I don't think anyone particuarly overrated his ability much if at all did they?
