No worries Nuts, you are spot on. As you say these are the stars of the IPL who have been bowled out for absolutely derisory totals. With all the easy money on offer, these clowns probably thought they just had to turn up in order to win. Yes, England had by far the best of the conditions but the lack of application and patience by India has been an absolute disgrace. Ironically the bowlers have actually done pretty well. Looking down the barrel of a 5-0 whitewash now. No lessons learnt from 2014 or from Egbaston. Thank God the mighty U’s won yesterday or I would have been on the phone to Samaritans last night! To be fair, I can't think of a team in the world who would have coped better with the conditions during this test match, especially with English bowlers exploiting the swinging ball and weather. Before we crow too much, we only have to look back to the embarrassment we ourselves faced in Australia, or for that matter, any overseas tour in recent memory. It is a sad fact that the home team will always have the advantage of being able to prepare wickets which their players are used to and know how to play on. Don't get me started on 20/20 cricketers, unfortunately we have a few in our test team who also think that 5 days of application, determination and resolve is boring!

Yeah, all very good points Imp. As you say home advantage is massive. Look at how England got on in India last tour and compare it to what is happening now. I know it has been mentioned but maybe there is a very good case for doing away with the toss completely and letting visiting teams decide whether to bat or bowl.

How about both teams playing away. Ie England v India at the waca. Decent shout. The only problem is that fans in both countries will miss out on watching. Seems like something should be done to tackle this home advantage issue though. To be honest I get fed up of India bullying teams at home and then folding abroad. I guess you guys might feel the same about how the Ashes go home and away.

Yes, home advantage has ruled for years, thats why an away win is special.
Pakistan played home tests in Dubai, (and as you say Shubs, hard for both supporters) the grounds were very empty.
If Australia played South Africa in England, im sure they would get good support.

Wow, Shubs will be happy. I’m bound to say the series needs a 2-1 after this one. Has Vijay been dropped then?

Blimey, didn’t see that coming. If one team has the capacity to feck it up from here, it’s India. Yeah Nuts, Vijay got dropped-pity as I reckon he is a steady opener. A ridiculous stat is that India have not played an unchanged team for about 70 odd tests.

Yeah chaps, I see that Vince’s selection has not been greeted with massive acclaim. I know he is having a very good County season but that he has failed at test level before. Don’t know to be honest. What surprised me about Trent Bridge was to see Curran left out after he did so incredibly well at Lords.
From the Indian point of view, I am glad that they have gone with a couple of kids in Pant and now Shaw.
Let’s see...

Even more so now. When will our cricketers learn how to play for 5 days?

You say that chaps but superb innings by Curran with very good support from Ali and Broad. Bit gutted to be honest as from 86/6 I thought India would get you out much more cheaply.
Massive session tomorrow morning. If India lose a couple early....still having nightmares about Lords!

The ball that got Pat, sorry Keaton, Jennings is the best I’ve seen in test cricket for a long while.

The ball that got Pat, sorry Keaton, Jennings is the best I’ve seen in test cricket for a long while. Yeah, India really missed Bumrah in the first couple of tests. Also has got the reputation for being a really good death bowler in 50 over games. Whoever dropped Curran for Trent Bridge needs castrating! On a separate note, what do you guys make of Stokes being recalled at TB? Fair enough he was found innocent in court but he was out getting lashed up, beating people up at 2AM in the middle of a ODI series. Will the ECB do anything about him and Hales, and do you think they should?
